You wanna know ’bout that wrestling dream card, eh? Alright, sit down, I’ll tell ya what I reckon.

So, they got this big show comin’, see? They callin’ it “WrestleDream.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? Like somethin’ you’d see in a movie. Heard it’s for some fella named Inoki, some big shot wrestler from way back. They say he was a dreamer, this fella. Well, ain’t we all dreamin’, I say? I dreamt of winnin’ the lottery last night, didn’t happen though. Ha!
They gonna have it in some place called Tacoma. Where’s that, anyways? Is it far? Guess it don’t matter much to me, I ain’t goin’ nowhere. Too old for all that travelin’. But these young folks, they like it. They gonna pack that place up, I bet. Cheerin’ and hollerin’ like a bunch of wild animals. Kids these days, eh?
Now, about the fightin’. They got all sorts of fellas wrestlin’, big fellas, small fellas, fellas wearin’ masks. Reminds me of that fella down the street, always wearin’ that funny hat. Anyways, they got some fella defendin’ his championship. Television championship, they call it. What’s that mean? He wins a TV? I dunno. Sounds silly to me.
- They got these “heels,” they say. Bad guys, basically. Always cheatin’ and breakin’ the rules. Just like my nephew, that one. Always tryin’ to sneak extra cookies from the jar.
- Then they got the “faces.” Good guys, I guess. Supposed to be all fair and square. Don’t know if I believe it though. Everyone’s got a little bit of bad in ’em, ain’t that right?
And this whole thing, it’s all pretend, ya know? They call it “kayfabe.” Some fancy word for makin’ believe. Like when kids play cops and robbers. But these folks, they get all worked up about it. Screamin’ and shoutin’ at the TV. I just shake my head. Don’t they got nothin’ better to do?
They say you can watch it on the internet, on that “YouTube” thing. My grandson, he’s always watchin’ that stuff. Says it’s better than regular TV. I don’t see it, myself. Just a bunch of people makin’ fools of themselves. But hey, if it makes ’em happy, who am I to judge?
So, this WrestleDream thing, it’s gonna be a big deal, I guess. Lots of fightin’, lots of yellin’. And in the end, someone will win and someone will lose. But it’s all just a show, ain’t it? Like a circus. Entertainment for the masses. Me? I’d rather sit on my porch and watch the birds. More peaceful, that’s for sure.
But hey, if you like that wrestlin’ stuff, go ahead and watch it. Enjoy yourself. Just don’t get too caught up in it. It ain’t real life, ya know? Real life’s got enough problems without worryin’ about who’s gonna win a pretend fight. Now, where did I put my tea?
