Alright, guys, let’s talk about my little project today – making a Wonder Woman comic cover.

First, I dug around for some background info. Turns out, Wonder Woman, also known as Princess Diana, is a character from DC Comics, created by a guy named William Moulton Marston. She’s basically a superhero from Greek mythology, pretty cool, huh?
Then I started browsing through existing covers. Man, there are tons of them! I found some websites that have, like, hundreds of comic strips with her. I clicked on a few and got a closer look. I noticed some of them had her teaming up with Robin. In others, she was captured and tied up with some kind of “Lasso of Lies.” And I found that some were saying her story has been rebooted, kind of like what happened to Superman and Batman.
- Checked out a bunch of different Wonder Woman comic covers.
- Noticed different scenarios – her with Robin, getting captured, etc.
- Read a bit about her story getting a reboot.
After getting a feel for the style, I started sketching. I wanted to capture that classic Wonder Woman vibe, you know? Strong, powerful, but also kinda elegant. I messed around with a few poses, some action shots, and a couple of close-ups.
Diving into the Artwork
Once I had a sketch I liked, I started working on the actual drawing. This part took a while. I mean, getting the details right, the colors, the shading – it’s a whole process. I used a new drawing app this time. I experimented with different brushes and effects to see what worked best. There were moments I wanted to throw my tablet across the room, but hey, art is a journey, right?
After hours of drawing, erasing, and redrawing, I finally had something I was happy with. It wasn’t perfect, but it captured the essence of what I was going for. A solid Wonder Woman, ready to kick some butt.
So, yeah, that was my day. Drawing a comic cover. It was challenging, frustrating at times, but ultimately, pretty rewarding. Maybe I’ll try another superhero next time. Any suggestions?
