Okay, so today I’m gonna talk about “Wildcats Comic #1.” I’ve been digging into this whole universe lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride.
I started by trying to figure out what the heck this whole Wildcats thing was even about. I read somewhere that it’s about bringing together these, like, half-alien people, called Kherubim, and training them to fight against some bad guys, the Daemonites, led by this dude Helspont. Sounds wild, right? It kinda is.
- I decided to dive into the comics themselves.
- I found out that there are different volumes and a bunch of issues, and honestly, it got confusing real quick.
I stumbled upon some advice online that said it’s cool to skip some issues, like in volume 2. But even then, it was still a bit of a mess, especially since I was totally new to this. Some folks were saying to just “roll with the punches,” and I guess that’s what I did.
Finding Info About This
I learned there are like, 6 volumes by some guy named Jim, and this first issue is supposed to be a big deal. It’s like a reboot or something, after some other event called “Number of the Beast.” Apparently, it shakes things up in the WildStorm Universe. No idea what that meant at the time, but I was in too deep to turn back now.
So, I got my hands on Wildcats #1. It’s from DC Comics, which I recognized – they do Batman and Superman. Turns out, they bought the rights to Wildcats from Image Comics back in the ’90s. Business stuff, you know? It also mentioned someone called Brandon Choi coming back.
Some Big Names Involved
I also saw that a guy named Scott Lobdell was involved in this. I didn’t know him, but the internet said he’s a big deal in comics. The basic story was about these different characters. Some old, some new. Like Grifter and Condition Red. The new ones sounded interesting too, like Mythos, a Kherubim Lord. Another was Olympia, a Daemonite Coda? Then there was Sister Eve. This was all just in this first issue, mind you!
Diving Into It
I finally read the dang thing. It was… a lot. There were some intense moments. But the characters, they were interesting. It was also kinda cool how they were all different. The art was great too. I realized that this first issue was mainly setting the stage, introducing all these characters and the general vibe of the story.
My Thoughts
I finished the comic feeling a bit overwhelmed but also kinda excited. It was clear this was just the beginning of a much bigger story. A story about aliens, time travel, and all sorts of crazy stuff. I’m not gonna lie, I was hooked. And now I’m left thinking about what happens next. Time to find out what happens next time!
