Well now, I gotta tell ya, this game “Wayfinder” sure has got folks talkin’. It’s an all-new 3-player Co-Op Action RPG, and let me tell ya, it ain’t no kiddin’ around. I’ve been hearin’ a lotta folks saying it’s got some real intense combat and a whole heap of ways to customize yer character. So, if you like a good ol’ challenge, this one might just tickle yer fancy.

Now, what’s all this Early Access business about, you might ask? Well, that’s when a game comes out before it’s all the way done, just to let people take a peek and maybe help out with some feedback. Folks get to play the game, but it’s still got some work to be done on it. It’s like when you’re bakin’ a pie and you let folks have a taste of the crust before you add the apples and sugar, ya know? In this case, Wayfinder’s early access came out back in August 17, for Steam and PlayStation, both 4 and 5. So, if you’re a fan of these games, it’s available now, and you can go ahead and give it a whirl.
But, don’t go thinkin’ that just ‘cause it’s Early Access that there ain’t much to do. No sir, there’s plenty to get your hands on. You’ll get to go on adventures across six different locations. And, I hear tell, there’s six Wayfinders to collect, which must be a mighty fun thing to do. But don’t go thinkin’ it’s all sunshine and rainbows ‘cause you’ll also be huntin’ down some mighty powerful bosses along the way. In fact, you can craft 17 different weapons from what you find in the game when you first start. That oughta keep ya busy for a good long while, I reckon!
But here’s where it gets real interestin’. Now, this game ain’t gonna stay in Early Access forever. On October 21, 2024, it’s comin’ out full-fledged, like a chicken hatchin’ from its shell. The full version will bring even more fun stuff to the table, like a new zone called the Crucible. Folks sayin’ it’s got new quests, mini-bosses to battle, and plenty of secrets to uncover. Plus, there’s a new tool in the game called the Hookshot, which sounds like something a pirate might use! I reckon it’s gonna add a whole new level of excitement to the adventures, that’s for sure.
As for how you’ll be playin’, looks like there’s a whole mess of ways to customize yer character. You’ll get to play around with talent trees and Wayfinder ranks, which let ya shape your character how ya like. And, don’t go forgettin’, there’s 21 different armor sets to choose from. So, if you’re the kind of person who likes to play around and make yer character look just how you want, you’ll be busy as a bee in a flower patch.
Now, somethin’ else folks might not know is that Wayfinder’s been changin’ things up a bit. See, it started off as a free-to-play game that folks could hop into online and play together. But now, it’s shiftin’ gears. They lost their publisher last year, and now it’s turnin’ into a premium game that’ll be a single-player experience. So, it ain’t gonna be free no more, but I reckon that’s the way the game industry’s goin’. No more free lunch, so to speak.
So, if you’re still sittin’ on the fence about whether or not to get into it, here’s the deal: you’re gettin’ a real gem of a game, with a ton of ways to customize yer playstyle and explore new lands with friends or by yer lonesome. It’s got plenty of adventure, and the full launch is just around the corner. So if you’ve got a hankerin’ for somethin’ fun, it might be worth checkin’ out. Just don’t expect the game to be all shiny and polished right off the bat, since it’s still workin’ its way to that final release. But it’s lookin’ like it’s gonna be a good’un, and that’s for sure!
