Alright, so I was really excited to get my hands on these TMNT 2003 figures. It’s their 40th anniversary, can you believe it? I remember watching the show when I was a kid and collecting some of the older figures. So I’ve been keeping an eye out for this reissue thing.
First, I did some digging online. Apparently, Playmates Toys is the company behind it. This makes sense, they’ve been making TMNT toys since like, forever. I found out that the first series of figures they released in 1988 was a huge hit. It included the four Turtles, Splinter, April, Shredder, and some others, plus some cool vehicles. Those old figures are worth a ton of money now, which is crazy. I saw that the company decided to reissue the 2003 version’s figures.
Then, I started hunting for them in stores and online. I looked on their official website but there is not enough information for it. Eventually, I found them in a local toy store. They had the whole set: all four Turtles, and they looked just like they did in the cartoon. I was stoked!
I grabbed the figures I wanted and rushed home. I carefully opened the packages, trying not to damage anything. The figures themselves are pretty cool. They’re detailed, they feel solid, and they have a good range of motion. I spent the whole afternoon posing them and setting up little scenes. It was a blast from the past!
Later, I started thinking about the original figures from the ’80s. I remember having a few of those, but they’re long gone now. I checked online to see how much they’re going for these days, and wow, some of them are super expensive. It made me appreciate these reissues even more. They’re a great way to get that nostalgia fix without breaking the bank.
All in all, I’m really happy with these TMNT 2003 reissues. They brought back a lot of good memories, and they’re just fun to play with. I think it’s a great way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of such an iconic brand. If you’re a fan of TMNT, you should definitely check them out!
