Alright, so I got this idea to make an “Absolute Checklist” for myself. I’ve been feeling like my place is a bit chaotic lately, and it’s been bugging me. I’m not the tidiest person, but I figured it was time to take action and get things in order.

First, I brainstormed all the areas in my home that needed attention. I walked around with a notepad and jotted down everything that caught my eye. My list ended up including the living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and even that dreaded junk drawer.
Next, I broke down each area into smaller, more manageable tasks. For example, under “kitchen,” I listed things like “clean out the fridge,” “organize the pantry,” “wipe down the counters,” and “scrub the sink.”
- Living Room:
- Declutter shelves
- Vacuum the carpet
- Dust the furniture
- Kitchen:
- Clean out fridge
- Organize pantry
- Wipe down counters
Then came the fun part – actually doing the work! I decided to tackle one area each day. I started with the living room. I put on some music, grabbed my cleaning supplies, and got to work. I dusted the shelves, vacuumed the carpet, and organized the clutter. It felt good to see things looking tidier already.
The kitchen was a bigger project. I emptied out the fridge, threw away expired food, and scrubbed the shelves. I also reorganized the pantry, grouping similar items together. It took a while, but it was worth it.
Working on the Bedroom
The bedroom was next. Declutter the closet first. Then, I changed the sheets, made the bed and vacuumed under the bed. I even found some old clothes that I could donate. Organize the drawers is the most tough part, I think. Take some time to do it.
Finally, I reached the bathroom. I scrubbed the toilet, cleaned the shower, and wiped down the mirrors. I also organized my toiletries and threw away anything that was empty or expired.
After a few days of hard work, my place was looking much better. I felt a sense of accomplishment and relief. Having an organized home made me feel more relaxed and at peace. And you know what? It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Once I got started, it was actually kind of satisfying to see the progress I was making.
