Okay, so, you wanna know about this Herizen Guardiola thing, right? Alright, I’ll tell ya what I know, but don’t expect no fancy words or nothin’. I’m just gonna tell it like it is, the way I see it.

First off, this Herizen girl, she’s young, real young. Born in, what, the 2000s? Lord, I was already milkin’ cows by then! Anyway, she’s an actress, a singer, and a dancer. A triple threat, they call it. Sounds like a lot of work to me, but hey, to each their own, I always say.
Now, the big thing she did was this show, “The Get Down,” on that Netflix thingamajig. It was about music and stuff, back in the old days, you know, the 70s. She played this girl, Mylene Cruz. Apparently, it was a big deal for her, her “breakout role” they called it. Sounded important, though I ain’t never seen the show myself. Heard it got canceled after just one season. Shame, all that work for nothin’.
So, what’s all the fuss about? Well, seems like people can’t make up their minds about this show, and I guess about Herizen too. Some folks, they hated it. Called it a “hot mess,” said it didn’t make no sense. Like that time old man Johnson tried to fix his tractor with a chicken bone, bless his heart. Just a big ol’ jumble.
But then you got other folks who loved it. Said it was full of energy, all lively and whatnot. Reminds me of those Saturday night dances we used to have down at the Grange hall. Good times, good times.
The Kissing Scene Controversy
Now, there was somethin’ about a kiss, too. Seems like on her first day, she had to kiss this other fella, Jaden Smith. Poor girl, never acted before and they throw her right into a kiss! They said they were supposed to read scripts, but then the director, this Baz fella, he just told ’em to do some “cheesy hand thing” instead. Eventually though, they did the kiss. I reckon it was a bit awkward, you know, meeting someone and then bam, you’re kissin’ ’em. But hey, that’s show business, I guess.
Herizen’s Character in “The Get Down”
- Mylene, that’s who Herizen played, was caught between two worlds.
- Family and love on one side, career on the other.
- Sounds like a tough spot to be in, if you ask me.
This Mylene girl, she had some big decisions to make. Family or her career, love or somethin’ else. Just like real life, ain’t it? Always havin’ to choose between one thing and another. Reminds me of that time I had to choose between sellin’ my prize-winning pig or payin’ the mortgage. Tough choices, I tell ya.

Herizen’s Life After The Show
And then there’s this other thing about Herizen talkin’ to all these famous people, like Jennifer Hudson and even that Beyonce girl! Imagine that! I wouldn’t even know what to say to them. Probably just “Howdy,” I guess. She seems friendly enough, this Herizen. Not stuck-up or nothin’, like some of them Hollywood types.
After the show got canceled, seems like Herizen went on to do other things. Singing, mostly. Dropped some solo project, they said. Good for her, I say. Keep busy, that’s what I always tell my grandkids. Idle hands are the devil’s workshop, you know.
So, is there a real “controversy” here? I dunno. Sounds like some people liked her, some didn’t. Some liked the show, some didn’t. That’s just life, ain’t it? You can’t please everyone all the time. Just gotta do what you think is right and let the chips fall where they may. That’s what I always say.
Final Thoughts
Anyway, that’s the gist of it. This Herizen Guardiola, she’s a young gal tryin’ to make her way in the world. Some folks like her, some don’t. But that’s their problem, not hers. She just keeps on singin’ and dancin’ and doin’ her thing. And that’s all that matters, right?
