Alright, let’s talk about this Star Wars Black Series Phantom Menace 3 Pack, ya hear? I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I know what I like, and I like these little plastic people.
First off, you get three of ’em in this pack. That’s Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and that Darth Maul fella, the one with all the horns and the scary face. Now, them first two fellas, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, they ain’t exactly new. Seems like Hasbro, or whoever makes these things, they just took the old ones and slapped some new clothes on ’em. They call it “soft goods,” which I guess just means they ain’t stiff plastic. Makes ’em bendy, see? You can pose ’em real good, like they’re fightin’ or somethin’.
- Qui-Gon Jinn: He’s the older fella, got that long hair and that serious look on his face. He’s got a lightsaber, green, it is. Looks like it could do some damage, that’s for sure.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi: This one’s younger, still got some baby fat on his face, ya know? He’s got a blue lightsaber. Seems like a good kid, this Obi-Wan.
- Darth Maul: Now this here’s the bad guy, plain as day. Red and black face paint, horns all over the place, and a red double-bladed lightsaber. He looks mean, real mean. And he’s new, they say. Not just a redo like them other two.
They say this pack is all about recreatin’ that “Duel of the Fates” fight scene from the movie, that Phantom Menace one. You know, the one where they’re all jumpin’ and flippin’ around with them lightsabers. It was a good fight, gotta admit. And with these figures, you can kinda make your own little version of it, right there on your kitchen table, if you want.
I ain’t got a whole heap of experience with these Black Series figures, mind you. Seen ’em in the stores, always thought they looked kinda fancy. But this pack, it caught my eye. Maybe it’s ’cause I always liked that Qui-Gon fella, or maybe it’s just ’cause there’s three of ’em in one box. Makes it feel like you’re gettin’ a deal, ya know? And who don’t like a good deal?
The figures themselves, they’re pretty good. Like I said, they bend real nice, so you can pose ’em up all kinds of ways. The paint jobs are decent, nothin’ too fancy, but they look good enough. The lightsabers light up, kinda, but not real bright. Just enough to see ’em glowin’ a little bit in the dark.
Now, I ain’t gonna lie, these things ain’t cheap. You gotta shell out a fair bit of cash for ’em. But I reckon if you’re a big Star Wars fan, or if you just like collectin’ these little plastic people, then it might be worth it. They’re nice to look at, and they’re fun to play around with, even if you’re just posin’ ’em on your shelf.
One thing I will say, is that Darth Maul fella, he’s the real star of the show here. Being new and all, he just looks a little bit better than them other two. His clothes are sharper, his paint is cleaner, and that double-bladed lightsaber, well, it’s just plain cool. If you’re gonna get this pack for any reason, get it for him.
So, all in all, this Star Wars Black Series Phantom Menace 3 Pack, it’s a decent set. You get three good figures, two of ’em with new clothes, and one brand new one. They’re posable, they look good, and they let you recreate that famous fight scene from the movie. If you’re into that kinda thing, then I reckon you’ll like ’em. Just don’t go breakin’ the bank to get ’em, ya hear? There’s more important things in life than plastic people, even if they do got lightsabers.
