That Jackson Lamb, he just showed up to see Nikolai, that Russian fella. He tried to pretend he was workin’ for someone else, a fella named Demetrio or somethin’. But it was all a big lie! I tell ya, that Lamb, he’s a sneaky one. He got that Nikolai talkin’, though. Found out his real name is Andrei Chernitsky. Sounds Russian, don’t it? Then it was all about finding this Chernitsky fella. This whole thing started ’cause River Cartwright messed up big time. He was doin’ real good, then bam! He ended up with the slow horses. Somethin’ real bad happened, I reckon.
This here Slow Horses thing, it’s all about these folks who messed up. That River, he was supposed to be good. But he got mixed up with the wrong crowd, I guess. They call ’em the Slow Horses, ’cause they ain’t fast, ain’t smart, you see. Just like them old plow horses we used to have back on the farm. Slow and steady, but mostly just slow. Season 2, Episode 2, that’s the one I’m talkin’ about. It’s called “From Upshott with Love”. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But it ain’t nothin’ but trouble, I tell ya.
They was all runnin’ around, tryin’ to find that Chernitsky. He’s a slippery one, I bet. Probably hidin’ out somewhere, scared like a rabbit. That Lamb, he’s got ways of findin’ folks, though. He ain’t afraid of nothin’. He went to some school, some learnin’ place. A language school. I reckon, he got in there, lookin’ for that Russian. Lamb, he can talk the bark off a tree, you know. He probably scared that Russian half to death! And the Russian spill the beans. That’s what they always do in these shows. They spill the beans.
- River messed up
- Lamb found Nikolai
- Nikolai is really Andrei Chernitsky
- They’re lookin’ for Chernitsky
- Slow Horses are slow
This whole mess started with River, I keep tellin’ ya. He was doin’ so good, too. Top of his class, I bet. Then he goes and does somethin’ stupid. Now he’s stuck with the slow horses. Ain’t that a shame? He was on the fast track, they called it. Like a racehorse, I suppose. Now he’s just a slow horse. It’s like, that River, he was supposed to be the best, but now he’s with the rest. The slow ones.
That Lamb, he’s the head of these Slow Horses. He’s a tough old bird, I tell ya. Don’t let him fool ya, though. He might look all rough around the edges, but he’s smart as a whip. He knows what he’s doin’. He’s got a plan, I bet. He always does. He’s gonna find that Chernitsky, just you wait and see.
This Slow Horses Season 2 Episode 2, it’s a real doozy. Lots of runnin’ around, lots of talkin’, lots of secrets. Just like real life, I suppose. Everybody’s got secrets. Especially them Russians. They are always hidin’ somethin’, ain’t they? That Nikolai, or Chernitsky, or whatever his name is, he’s got a whole heap of secrets, I bet. He is KGB, you know. That’s what they say, anyway. That means he’s a spy. A Russian spy! Can you believe it?
I don’t know what’s gonna happen next, but I’m sure it’s gonna be somethin’ big. That Lamb, he ain’t gonna let this go. He is like a dog with a bone when it comes to these things. He’s gonna keep diggin’ until he gets to the bottom of it. That is for sure. And that River, he’s gonna have to clean up his mess. He can’t just run away from his problems. He’s gotta face ’em head-on, like a man. Or like a slow horse, I guess.
It’s all a big mess, I tell ya. But it’s entertainin’, I’ll give it that. Keeps ya on the edge of your seat, wonderin’ what’s gonna happen next. Just like them old soap operas we used to watch on the television. Lots of drama, lots of intrigue. This Slow Horses thing, it’s just like that. Only with spies and Russians and all that. It was on December 2nd, see? That’s when this episode was on. “From Upshott with Love,” they called it. Like I said, fancy, right?
Well, that is all I can recall about this Slow Horses Season 2 Episode 2 recap. This whole thing gave me a headache. Too much thinkin’ for this old brain. I need to go sit down and have a cup of tea. And maybe a piece of pie. Apple pie, if we got any left. Yep, that’s what I need. A nice, warm piece of apple pie. You can’t go wrong with apple pie, that’s what I always say. Just like you can’t go wrong with watchin’ them Slow Horses, even if they are a bit slow.
