Man, I’ve been on a mission lately, and it’s all about Pokemon cards. You know, those things we collected as kids? Well, they’re back, and I’m hooked again. Specifically, I’ve been hunting for this one card: the Shiny Treasures Charizard SAR.
So, I started by scouring the internet, reading up on this Shiny Treasure ex set that just came out in Japan. From what I gathered, this set’s got a ton of secret rares, and people are going crazy for them. Apparently, there are over 170 of these secret rare cards, and the SAR Charizard is one of the hottest ones. There is also a popular waifu card named Iono that is really stunning to look at.
I watched a bunch of videos of people opening packs, and let me tell you, the hype is real. Seeing the excitement when they pull a rare card, especially that Charizard, it’s infectious! I was losing my mind along with them just watching it. The Charizard’s artwork is just on another level! Some kind of galactic look, all shiny and awesome. And they changed its type to Dark, which is a cool twist. The card is simply stunning, but not just the Charizard, the Iono card, the waifu effect pulls through me once again.
Next, I tried to figure out how much this card was going for. It is a tough task. Prices are all over the place! I saw some ungraded ones selling for about 1,300 bucks, and graded ones were way more, like anywhere from 2,000 to over 9,500 dollars! I even looked at some Japanese auction sites, and boy, the prices there were wild. I knew I had to be smart about this.
So, I began looking everywhere I could think of. I checked out a couple of card shops and I even went to some of those big collector shows, hoping to find someone who had it. It was tough, and I spent way more time than I’d like to admit. Not just the Charizard, I also kept an eye on the Iono card which is also a part of the Shiny Treasures ex set. It was an exhausting but a fun journey. I’m not giving up though.
Finally, after weeks of searching, I went to a small shop, and there it was. The shop owner told me he just got it. I tried to play it cool, but I was freaking out inside. We talked about the price, did a bit of haggling, and guess what? I got it! And I was so excited that I forgot to bargin for the Iono card which was also there in the shop. I paid a good chunk of change, but for me, it was totally worth it.
Holding that Charizard SAR in my hands, it felt amazing. It’s more than just a card; it’s like a piece of art. And yeah, it’s a pricey hobby, but the thrill of the hunt and finally getting that card you’ve been searching for? It’s a great feeling.
So, that’s my story. It’s been a wild ride, and I’m just one guy, sharing my little adventure. If you’re into Pokemon cards, you get it. And if you’re not, maybe this sounds a bit crazy, but hey, it’s my kind of fun!
