Okay, so I’ve been grinding away at Pokemon GO again lately, and let me tell you, the hunt for shinies is a real time-sucker. I was really gunning for a Shiny Manectric, ’cause, you know, who doesn’t want a cool blue electric dog?

First, I started reading up on Mega Manectric raids. I saw a few posts saying this electric pup was back in the rotation. And apparently, the odds of getting a shiny from a Mega Raid are, like, one in 60. Not terrible, right?
I did some digging on what the best counters were. Turns out, this thing’s only weak to Ground-types. I needed to get my Ground-type team in order.
Next, I gathered my best Ground-type Pokemon. I powered up my Groudon, my Excadrill and I don’t know if it was a good option, but I maxed out my Swampert with earthquake just in case. I made sure they had the right movesets, Earthquake and Earth Power, mostly. I was feeling pretty good about my chances at this point. Time to find some raids!
I started joining Mega Manectric raids whenever I saw them pop up. It took a few tries, but I finally figured out the best strategy with some other players. We were smashing through those raids, no problem. Of course, no shiny yet. But I was getting a ton of Mega Energy, so that was cool.
I kept at it, raiding whenever I could. I even managed to solo a couple of raids, which felt pretty awesome. Still, no shiny. It was getting a little frustrating, to be honest. I was starting to think this blue doggo was just a myth.
Finally, after what felt like a million raids (okay, maybe more like 30), it happened! There it was, a beautiful Shiny Manectric. The blue fur, the electric sparks, it was glorious! I used my Golden Razz Berries and an Ultra Ball, of course. Didn’t want to take any chances. Caught it on the first throw!
- Use Ground-type Pokemon: Seriously, this is key. Groudon, Excadrill, Garchomp, all good choices.
- Power up your counters: Make sure they’re strong enough to deal some serious damage.
- Raid with friends: It’s way easier and more fun.
- Be patient: It might take a while, but don’t give up!
- Solo: if you have appropriate counters and strategy, you can do it alone.
My tips for getting a Shiny Manectric:
It was a grind, but it was totally worth it. Now I have a sweet Shiny Mega Manectric to show off. Time to find my next shiny target!
