Pokemon GO Raikou Raid Guide: Shiny, Weaknesses, & Counters

Alright, listen up, y’all! Gonna tell ya ’bout this Raikou thing in that Pokey-man Go game. My grandkids keep yellin’ about it, so I figured I’d learn a thing or two. Seems like a big deal, this Raikou.

First off, they say this Raikou is a “five-star raid boss,” whatever that means. Sounds fancy, huh? Like one of them big ol’ cows at the county fair, but probably a whole lot meaner. You gotta team up with other folks to fight it, can’t do it alone, no sirree. My grandkids tried, ended up cryin’. Wasted all their potions and revives, whatever those are.

Now, where do you find this Raikou critter? Well, it shows up in them “Legendary Raid eggs.” Sounds like a hen house problem to me, but apparently, these eggs ain’t laid by no chickens. They hatch into this Raikou, and then you gotta go beat it up. Seems kinda mean, but that’s how the game goes, I guess.

I heard tell it’s been spotted in over ten thousand gyms lately. That’s more gyms than we got tractors in this whole county! So, you got plenty of chances to find one, I reckon. But don’t go thinkin’ it’ll be easy.

• Raikou’s Moves: Now, this beastie has some moves. They got names like “Thunder Shock” and “Wild Charge.” Sounds like my old washing machine when it gets overloaded! You gotta know what kind of moves it’s gonna use, so you can pick the right Pokey-mans to fight it. My grandkids keep mumblin’ ‘bout “counters,” that’s what they call the good ones to use.
• Finding Raikou: Like I said, it’s in them legendary raid eggs, and it’s been showin’ up in gyms all over the place. But you gotta have them “raid passes” to get in on the fight. Costs money, I hear. These young’uns spendin’ all their allowance on this game, I tell ya.
• Shadow Raikou: Hold yer horses, there’s more! There’s this thing called “Shadow Raikou” too. Even meaner, I guess. And harder to beat. And it’s shiny now, whatever that means. Sounds like it’s been polished up real good, like my silverware for Sunday dinner. You only see this one on the weekends, in them “Shadow Raids” and gotta be there in person. Can’t be sittin’ on your couch for this one. No sir!
• Don’t Go Solo: And listen here, don’t you even think about fightin’ this Shadow Raikou by yourself. You’ll get your Pokey-mans all beat up and wasted. It’s a team effort, like huskin’ corn, ya need a whole bunch of folks to get the job done. Waste of potions, my grandkids say.

So, there you have it. That’s the lowdown on this Raikou thing, as best as this old lady can figure it. It’s a tough fight, but folks seem to like it. Keeps ‘em busy, I suppose. Better than them sittin’ around watchin’ that boob tube all day. Go on now, get out there and catch yourself a Raikou, or whatever it is you do with it. Just don’t blame me if it zaps ya!

Starting September 7, Shadow Raikou will be only on weekends. Don’t forget now! And it’s shiny too! Good luck, ya hear?
