Okay, so today, I tried to take on that Mega Tyranitar raid in Pokémon GO. I saw a bunch of folks talking about it online, saying it’s back in the Mega Raids, so I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” This thing is supposed to be a beast, a Rock and Dark-type, and everyone’s hyping it up as one of the strongest Mega Pokémon out there.
I’ve done a few raids before, mostly those easy Level 1 ones that you can just breeze through. I even managed to solo some Level 3 raids. Those were a bit tougher. You actually need to think about your team and pick Pokémon that have a type advantage. For example, if the boss is a fire type you can use your best water type pokemon. So, I got a bunch of high-level Pokémon for those, and it worked out okay.
Now, this Mega Tyranitar, it’s a whole different story. I read that it’s doubly weak to Fighting-type moves. It means that it will take extra damage from your fighting type Pokemon. So, I figured I’d stack my team with my strongest Fighting-types. I went in there feeling pretty confident, thinking I had a good strategy. I used my strongest fighting type Pokemon.
- First try: Total fail. I got completely wrecked. My Pokémon, even the high-level ones, just couldn’t handle Mega Tyranitar’s attacks. It was like hitting a brick wall. I thought I was strong enough, but no!
- Second try: I adjusted my team a bit, picked some different Fighting-types, hoping for better luck. Nope, still got crushed. This Mega Tyranitar is seriously no joke. You really need to change your Pokemon to try.
- Third try: I was starting to get frustrated. I mean, I know I’m not a pro raider or anything, but I thought I could at least put up a decent fight. I went through all my strongest Pokemon. Tried a few more times, same result. Each time, Mega Tyranitar just wiped the floor with me.
After a few more attempts, I finally had to admit defeat. It was a bit of a letdown, to be honest. But, you know, it’s all part of the game. You win some, you lose some. I was not able to win this time. I guess I need to level up my Pokémon even more, or maybe find some other players to team up with. I can try to do it with my friends.
So, yeah, that was my experience trying to solo the Mega Tyranitar raid. It was tough, but also kind of fun in a challenging way. If you’re thinking about trying it, just be prepared. It’s not easy at all, and you’ll need a really strong team. Or maybe, just maybe, it is a smart choice to find some friends to raid with you. Good luck, trainers!
