Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this Pokemon thing, this “Pokemon Adventures: The Previous Generation,” or whatever them youngsters call it. I don’t know much about these pocket monsters, but my grandkid, he’s crazy about ’em. Always yappin’ about Pikachu this and Charizard that. So, I peeked at his comics, and let me tell ya, it’s a whole different world.

This “Previous Generation,” it ain’t like the stuff on TV. It’s… older, I guess. Like, way back when. Them kids in the story, they ain’t got no fancy phones or nothin’. They’re runnin’ around catchin’ these creatures, trainin’ ’em, and battlin’ each other. Reminds me of how we used to play outside, except we were catchin’ frogs, not… whatever a Squirtle is.
- First off, there’s this Team Rocket gang. Bad news, them fellas. Always up to no good, tryin’ to steal Pokemons. Heard they’re after some super rare one called Mew. Sounds like a whole lotta trouble if you ask me.
- Then there’s the kids, the trainers. They gotta catch these Pokemons, see. And they don’t just catch ’em and put ’em in a cage. Nope, they gotta train ’em, make ’em strong. Teach ’em moves and stuff. Sounds like a lot of work if you ask me. Back in my day, we just fed the chickens and that was that.
- And the battles! Oh, the battles. These Pokemons, they fight each other. It’s like cockfighting, but with weird animals. My grandkid says it ain’t cruel, says the Pokemons like to battle. I don’t know, seems kinda rough to me.
I saw one chapter, #60 I think it was, where they were chasin’ after Team Rocket. Them Rockets, they were doin’ experiments on Pokemons, bad stuff. Made my blood boil, I tell ya. Even though they’re just drawings, it still ain’t right. Someone gotta stop them Rockets.
Then there was another one, chapter 31, I think. This one was funny. The kids, they were tryin’ to teach their Pokemons new moves. One kid, he was tryin’ to get his Pokemon to smash rocks. Took him forever, but he finally did it. Reminded me of tryin’ to teach my husband how to fix the tractor. Same kinda frustration, you know?
My grandkid, he showed me chapter 87 too. That one was a real nail-biter. The kids were in a big battle, and it looked like they were gonna lose. But then, their Pokemons, they got stronger, learned some new moves, and they won! Made me cheer, even though it’s just a silly comic. Guess I got caught up in it.
I hear tell these Pokemons can learn all sorts of things. My grandkid was goin’ on about “HMs” – Cut, Rock Smash, stuff like that. Sounds useful, I guess. Wish I had a Pokemon that could cut firewood for me. Would save my old back a lotta trouble.
This whole thing, this “Pokemon Adventures: The Previous Generation,” it’s got a lot goin’ on. Adventure, battles, friendship, even some bad guys tryin’ to ruin everything. It ain’t my cup of tea, but I can see why the kids like it. It’s got excitement, you know? And even an old lady like me can appreciate a good story, even if it’s got weird animals and kids runnin’ around like chickens with their heads cut off. It’s all about good versus evil, I reckon, and that’s somethin’ we can all understand. And, hey, maybe those Pokemons ain’t so bad after all. They seem to care about their trainers, and that’s more than I can say for some folks I know.
So, yeah, that’s my take on “Pokemon Adventures: The Previous Generation.” It’s a wild ride, that’s for sure. And if you got kids, or grandkids, you probably already know all about it. If not, well, maybe give it a peek. You might be surprised. Just don’t expect it to make any sense. It’s a Pokemon thing, you wouldn’t understand.
Anyway, I gotta go make dinner now. Them chickens ain’t gonna feed themselves. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll sneak a peek at another chapter later tonight. Don’t tell anyone, though. I got a reputation to uphold, you know? Can’t have folks thinkin’ I’m wastin’ my time on silly Pokemons.
