Alright, let’s talk about my recent project – figuring out the IV chart for Kartana in Pokémon Go. It’s been a bit of a grind, but a fun one. I’m not a hardcore player, but I do enjoy the thrill of catching these rare guys.
So, Kartana, this Ultra Beast, showed up in the 5-star raids. I heard about it and thought, “Why not give it a shot?” First thing I did was jump into a few raids. It wasn’t easy, I gotta say. This thing is tough! I teamed up with some other trainers online – thank goodness for those remote raid passes. We battled it out, and man, it was a close call a few times. But we managed to take Kartana down. Teamwork makes the dream work, right?
After a few successful raids, I started getting curious about the IVs. You know, how strong each Kartana actually is. I caught a bunch, and their CP (Combat Power) was all over the place. Some were around 2010 CP, while others were closer to 2101 CP. Then there were those boosted by the weather, pushing them up to the 2626 CP range. That’s when I realized there’s probably a whole range of IV combinations.
I started to search online, try to understand the details. I mean, I wanted to know what makes a Kartana truly powerful. I found out that the max CP for a level 50 Kartana is a whopping 4156. I also learned this Pokemon is a Grass/Steel type, making it a sitting duck for Fire-type moves. Double weakness, in fact! I made a mental note to use my Fire-types next time.
Then I got into the whole IV checking thing. There’s this in-game appraisal system that’s kind of helpful, but I wanted more precise info. I discovered some community-made tools that help calculate the exact IVs based on the Pokemon’s stats. It’s a bit of a guessing game, but these tools narrow it down pretty well.
Here’s what I did:
- Caught a bunch of Kartanas in raids.
- Used the in-game appraisal to get a general idea of their IVs.
- Input the data into one of those IV calculator tools.
- Started keeping track of the different IV combinations and their corresponding CPs.
It took a while, and I’m still not sure I’ve got every single combination, but I’ve got a pretty good chart going. It’s satisfying to see the numbers and understand what they mean. It’s like, now I can look at a Kartana and know if it’s a real gem or just another one for the collection.
I also learned that Kartana can be found in Field and Special Research tasks, but their CP range is lower, like 1507 to 1575. Good to know, but I’m mostly focused on those raid bosses.
So yeah, that’s my Kartana IV chart project in a nutshell. It’s been a learning experience, and I’m still at it. It’s not just about catching ’em all, it’s about understanding ’em all, too. I enjoy this process of figuring out how to share it with you guys, you know?
I also learned that you can beat Kartana with two players, maybe even one. I have not tried it yet, but I will try it in my next time.
Hope you guys learned something from my little adventure. Catch you later!
