Well, lemme tell ya ’bout this here… what’s it called again? Missin’ somethin’, Link somethin’. Oh yeah, Missing Link C-01 Optimus somethin’. Prime, that’s it! Now, I dunno much about these fancy robots and whatnots, but my grandson, he’s all gaga over ’em. He was tellin’ me this one’s special, somethin’ ’bout 40 years or somethin’. Ain’t that somethin’? Forty years!

So, this Optimus Prime fella, he’s a big deal, see? Turns from a truck into a robot. My grandson showed me. Pretty neat, I gotta say. He’s got this trailer too, where he keeps… stuff, I guess. Guns and things. Kids these days, always with the shootin’ and fightin’. Back in my day, we played with sticks and rocks, and we liked it!
Now, this Missin’ Link thing, it’s supposed to be like the old one, the one from way back when. They fixed it up, made it better, I hear. More bendy joints and such. My grandson says the old one, it didn’t move so good. Stiff as a board, he says. This new one, though, it can move its arms and legs all proper-like.
- He’s got this gun, see? Little thing, fits right in his hand.
- And the trailer, it opens up and you can put things in there. My grandson likes to put his other little robots in there. Says they’re hidin’ from the bad guys.
They say this Optimus Prime, he’s a leader. Leads all the other robots. Like a boss, I guess. Tells ’em what to do, keeps ’em in line. Sounds like my ol’ rooster, strutting around the henhouse, tellin’ everyone what’s what.
My grandson, he keeps talkin’ ’bout this “G1” somethin’. Said this new robot looks more like the G1 Optimus Prime. Whatever that means. Kids these days with their fancy words. Back in my day, a robot was a robot. Didn’t have no fancy names or numbers.
He also told me somethin’ ’bout this Optimus fella dyin’ and comin’ back to life. Like that Jesus fella in the Bible. Can’t rightly say I understand it all, but my grandson, he gets real excited talkin’ ’bout it. Guess it’s a big deal for these robot fans.
And this box it comes in, it’s got writin’ on it. Black letters, my grandson says. Important, he says. Tells ya who made it and when. I dunno, seems like a lot of fuss over a toy, but then again, I ain’t no kid anymore. Things were different back then. We didn’t have fancy robots that turned into trucks.
They also say this Optimus fella is the smallest one they made. Tiny little thing, fits in your hand. My grandson says there’s bigger ones, but this one’s special. Guess it’s ’cause it looks like the old one. The one from 40 years ago. Seems like a long time, 40 years. Makes ya feel old, it does.
So, there ya have it. My take on this Missin’ Link C-01 Optimus Prime. Don’t know if I said it right, but that’s what my grandson calls it. He sure loves it, that’s for sure. Spends hours playin’ with it, makin’ robot noises and whatnot. Kids will be kids, I guess.
