Okay, so, let’s talk about this whole Mega Rayquaza full art thing I got into.

I’ve been collecting Pokemon cards for a while now, and I’ve always been fascinated by the concept of Mega Evolution. I mean, who wouldn’t be? It’s like a temporary power-up that makes your Pokemon even more awesome than they already were. I guess it was first introduced in Pokemon X and Y, so that should explain why I’m so into it.
Anyway, I’ve been trying to get my hands on a Mega Rayquaza card, specifically the full art version, because it just looks so darn cool. I started by hitting up all the local card shops in my area. No luck. I mean, some had some regular Rayquaza cards, but not the one I was after. Bummer.
Then I had a brainwave! I did some online searching about how this “Mega Evolution” thing works in the actual games. Turns out, to Mega Evolve a Pokemon, you need this item called a “Mega Bracelet”. But there is something special about Rayquaza and I found that if your Rayquaza knows this move called “Dragon Ascent”, the mega evolution button will show up on it’s own! Neat, huh? But I’m here for the card, not the game! So I went back to searching for it.
I looked everywhere online, spent hours browsing through all those online marketplaces and auction sites. Nothing. It was like this card was a mythical creature or something. I even started looking at those binder pages, you know, the double-sided ones without rings, from Ultra Pro or the ones with Pokemon themes. And those perfect fit sleeves from Dragon Shield. Still nothing! I guess I was too focused on finding the card, I went off-track looking at accessories for it.
Feeling a bit down, I decided to switch gears and watch some videos, you know to get some inspiration. I somehow ended up on a video about UEFA Champions League, and I ended up downloading FIFA 19 just to experience it in the game. Totally unrelated, I know, but hey, it was a nice distraction.
After my little gaming detour, I went back to hunting for the card. And guess what? I finally found it! This guy online was selling his entire collection, and there it was, in all its glory – the Mega Rayquaza full art. Man, I was so excited, I contacted him immediately and made the purchase right then and there.
The Joy of Achievement
It felt like such a huge win, you know? Finally getting my hands on this card. Now I can stare at it all day long, and yeah I did get those double-sided non-ring binders and Dragon Shield perfect fit sleeves to keep the card in. All in all, it was a fun little adventure. And hey, it taught me a bit about persistence, and that sometimes, detours can be pretty fun too.
