Today I tried to figure out the best way to beat Kyogre in Pokemon Go. This big guy is a tough Water-type Legendary, and it took some planning to take him down.

Preparing for Battle
First, I looked up that Kyogre is weak against Electric and Grass-type moves. So, I rounded up my strongest Electric and Grass-type Pokemon.
I saw some recommendations online suggesting Mega Sceptile, Shadow Raikou, Kartana, Mega Venusaur, Zekrom, and Zarude. I didn’t have all of these, but I did have a pretty solid Mega Venusaur and a Zekrom.
The First Few Attempts
My first few tries didn’t go so well. I used a mixed team, and Kyogre’s powerful Water attacks just wrecked them. I realized I needed to focus on those Electric and Grass types.
Switching to a Focused Team
I put together a team with Mega Venusaur in the lead, followed by Zekrom and a few other strong Grass types like Tangrowth and Leafeon. I made sure they all had Grass-type fast and charged attacks.
The Winning Strategy
This time, it went much better! Mega Venusaur’s Frenzy Plant did a ton of damage, and Zekrom’s Wild Charge also hit really hard. Even though Kyogre is resistant to Fire and Ice, my Grass types were able to hold their own.
The Results
It took a few tries, but I finally managed to beat Kyogre! It was a tough battle, but using a team focused on its weaknesses really paid off. I made notes of the best movesets for each Pokemon I used, so I’ll be ready next time Kyogre comes around. I even took some notes about attack and defense move sets and their worst matchups, so I can counter properly.
This was a fun challenge, and it felt great to finally take down such a powerful Legendary. Now I’m ready for the next big raid boss!
