Okay, so, I finally finished “Under the Oak Tree,” and let me tell you, it was a wild ride! I started this thing ages ago, and I’ve been reading it on and off.

I remember seeing that there are like 194 chapters in the first book. I was like, “Dang, that’s a lot!” But I got sucked in, and started from chapter one. The main thing I wanted to know is if the story is finished or not. That’s the first question I asked myself before I started, you know?
Then I found out the author took a break for personal reasons. Like, for over a year! I was so bummed, thinking I’d never see the end. But then, surprise, surprise! She started writing book 2 in December 2021. I was thrilled and jumped back in. But, I gotta be honest, the story felt like it was all over the place after that.
I kept reading, though. I mean, I had to know what happened after her husband left for that expedition after their first night and then came back three years later like nothing happened. Super dramatic, right?
Official Translation and Stuff
I saw there’s an official translation on Manta. I didn’t read it there, but good to know it’s out there. And get this, they even made a print version with the first 76 chapters, thanks to some partnership with Inklore, which is part of Penguin Random House. Fancy, huh?
The Drama, Oh, the Drama!
- She ends up in jail! What the heck, right?
- There’s some messed up stuff like SA by the main guy, and she almost gets attacked by random dudes. Seriously, it got dark.
I did see a recent update that chapter 113 of book 2 was released on December 29th. I’m past that now, but yeah, it’s still ongoing. It’s a lot, I tell you. But I wanted to finish it, and I did it.
So yeah, that’s my experience with “Under the Oak Tree.” I started it, took breaks, got frustrated, got excited, and now I’m just… done. It’s a whole journey, and I had to share it with someone!
