Today, I really got into this comic book thing, specifically with Iron Man #126. I started my day thinking, “What’s the deal with this comic?” So, I did some digging online. I found out it’s part of the Justin Hammer storyline. I mean, this guy, Hammer, he’s like a big-time criminal with a whole army of super-bad guys working for him. Can you believe it?
I picked up the comic, and right from the get-go, there’s this scene on a beach in Monaco. My boy, Jim Rhodes, he’s in a tough spot, trying to explain himself to the cops. There’s this angry crowd all around, and things are looking pretty heated. Rhodes is trying to tell everyone that Tony Stark has been kidnapped, but they are not buying it.
As I flipped through the pages, it hit me how different this all is from the Iron Man we see in the movies. Back in the day, Iron Man had this whole secret identity thing going on. It’s wild to think about now, but it was a big part of his story.
What got me thinking even more was Tony Stark’s character. Man, in the comics, he’s shown as this super arrogant and kind of ignorant guy. Sure, he’s got a good heart, but he’s always thinking he knows best. I guess this is why he ended up in so many messed-up situations, like fighting with Rhodey and that whole mess with Ultron.
- I remembered reading somewhere that after all those movies, they killed off Iron Man in ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ It’s kind of sad, but also, it makes sense. He had a good run.
The Hammer Strikes!
This part of the comic is intense. We’re talking about Iron Man up against this untouchable enemy. And the artwork? Amazing. It’s got this old-school vibe that just draws you in.
So, I spent my whole afternoon just lost in this comic. It’s not just about the action, though. It makes you think about the characters, their choices, and how everything ties together. Reading Iron Man #126 wasn’t just flipping through a comic; it felt like stepping into a whole different world. A world where a guy in a suit can be a hero but also super flawed. I never thought a comic book could get me this hooked, but here I am, already looking up where to find the next issue.
