Review of Interview with the Vampire Season 2, Episode 8

Well, well, well, folks, the big finale of Interview with the Vampire season 2 came and it sure did pack a punch, didn’t it? I reckon if you’ve been watching this whole season, you’re either sitting on the edge of your seat, biting your nails, or shaking your head thinking, “What in the world did I just watch?” But let me tell ya, it was a rollercoaster, and not the kind you ride at the fair – the kind that gets you all mixed up, dizzy, and leaves you with a lot to think about!
Now, to get right to the heart of things, Episode 8 starts with Louis and Armand reminiscing about the trial and how poor Louis was freed from that crypt he’d been stuck in. I reckon a lot of folks were wondering what would happen next after all the drama with Lestat. Well, turns out, Louis isn’t looking for any big ol’ reunion with Lestat, even though the man did apologize and saved his life. But you can tell, deep down, Louis just ain’t too sure about trusting him again. Can you blame him? Lestat might have saved his life, but he sure did mess it up plenty of times before that.
One of the things I reckon stands out in this episode is how Louis starts realizing that being a vampire ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. At first, he thought of it as some kind of gift, but by the end of the episode, he’s come to the hard truth that it’s more like a curse than anything else. Ain’t that just the way? You think you’ve been given something special, but turns out, it’s just more weight on your shoulders. That’s the crux of Louis’ story arc, if you ask me.
What Happens Between Louis and Lestat?
Now, I know y’all are probably wondering if Louis and Lestat get back together. Well, let me save you some time – not really, no. They don’t. Sure, they have their moments where they talk, and Lestat even tries to apologize for all the hurt he caused, but the bond they had is shattered. Too much water under the bridge, as they say. Even with all that saving of lives and those heartfelt words, you just can’t ignore the damage that’s already been done. I think the show was wise not to rush them back into each other’s arms, ’cause even after all these years, Lestat is still that same old broken man he was in the beginning. Maybe a little less fancy, but still the same at his core.
The episode wraps up with some serious soul-searching. It ain’t all wrapped up with a bow either, which I kinda liked. Things are left hanging a bit, making you think about what’s gonna happen next. And with the way this season ended, I’m telling ya, you’re gonna be left hungry for more.
Will Season 3 Be Any Different?
So, what about next season? Well, looks like we’re gonna be seeing things from Lestat’s point of view. Now that’s gonna be something, ain’t it? After all this time seeing everything through Louis’ eyes, I’m curious how the show’s gonna turn out with Lestat taking the lead. The showrunner, Rolin Jones, did say we’ll still see Louis around – so don’t go worrying about that! Jacob Anderson (who plays Louis) will be sticking around, but the shift in perspective is sure to shake things up. I reckon we’ll be diving deeper into Lestat’s past, and that could be a whole other can of worms.

Final Thoughts
All in all, Episode 8 of season 2 of Interview with the Vampire did a good job wrapping up some big moments while leaving room for what’s to come. If you’ve been following along, I’d say this finale didn’t disappoint. Sure, it had its share of twists and turns that might leave you scratching your head, but that’s what makes this show so addictive. There’s drama, there’s heartbreak, and there’s a whole lot of vampire business going on, and I reckon that’s just the way we like it.
So, get ready, folks. Season 3 might just be even bigger and messier, and I’m sure it’ll leave us all talking for a long time to come!
