Oh boy, you won’t believe what happened to me today. I was all set to play a Commander game with my buddies, ready to unleash my trusty Hullbreacher. I’ve been rocking this deck for a while now, and it’s been a blast. But then, bam! News came down that Hullbreacher got the boot – it’s banned! Can you believe it?

So, here’s the whole story. I woke up this morning, same as always, and got myself a cup of coffee. While I was scrolling through my phone, I saw a post about the latest Commander ban list update. I thought, “Oh, probably nothing that affects me.” Boy, was I wrong.
I clicked on the announcement, and there it was, in big, bold letters: Hullbreacher – banned. My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had to read it again, just to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.
My Reaction
- First, I was in disbelief. I mean, Hullbreacher? It’s good, but ban-worthy?
- Then, I was a little bummed. I really liked that card in my deck. It was so satisfying to deny my opponents their card draw and make a bunch of treasures in the process.
- But then I started thinking. Maybe it’s for the best. That card could be pretty oppressive, especially when combined with certain wheels.
I immediately texted my playgroup to break the news. They were just as shocked as I was. We spent the next hour or so debating the ban, talking about possible replacements, and reminiscing about all the crazy plays we’d made with Hullbreacher.
After the initial shock wore off, I decided to look on the bright side. This ban is going to shake things up in our playgroup, and that’s always a good thing. It forces us to get creative, try new strategies, and maybe even discover some hidden gems that we’ve been overlooking. It’s also time to update my deck, test new cards, and find new favorite cards.
So, yeah, Hullbreacher is banned. It’s the end of an era, but also the beginning of a new one. I’m excited to see what the Commander format looks like without it. And who knows, maybe I’ll find a new favorite card that’s even more fun to play. But let’s be real, it’s gonna be tough to top the sheer joy of dropping a Hullbreacher on a packed table. Those were the days.
Anyway, that’s my Hullbreacher story. What a wild ride! Time to brew some new decks, I guess. Gotta keep those Commander games fresh, right?
