Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Pat Benatar, you know, the one with the big voice. Folks keep askin’ me, what’s the deal with her and these Hulk hands? Well, lemme tell ya, it ain’t exactly like she’s smashin’ things with ’em, not like that big green fella on the TV.
First off, Pat Benatar, she’s a singer, a real firecracker. Heard her on the radio once, back when radios were the size of a breadbox. Powerful voice, that one. Makes you wanna stomp your feet and clap your hands, even if you got arthritis like me.
Now, about these Hulk hands… From what I gather, it ain’t nothin’ serious. Seems like someone just thought it’d be funny, you know? Like puttin’ big ol’ gloves on a fancy lady. Imagine that! A singer, all dolled up, wearin’ these giant green hands. Sounds kinda silly, doesn’t it? But hey, folks like silly things sometimes.
I heard tell that this whole thing started with some picture or somethin’. Maybe someone drew her with those big hands, or maybe she wore ’em for a laugh at a concert. Don’t rightly know. But people got talkin’, and now it’s a thing, this “Pat Benatar Hulk hands” business.
- She’s got this fella, Neil Giraldo, plays guitar somethin’ fierce. Heard he’s been with her a long time, plays on all her records. Good for her, findin’ a fella who sticks around. Not like some of them fellas I used to know, always runnin’ off…
- And this band, they call it Coxon’s Army, or somethin’ like that. Sounds like a bunch of rowdy fellas, but they make good music, that’s for sure. Heard it on the radio, real catchy tunes.
- They say she got famous back when disco was all the rage. You remember disco, right? All them sparkly clothes and funny dances. Well, Pat Benatar, she was different. She was rock and roll, through and through. No disco balls for her, no sir.
Now, some folks say she’s got a real stage presence, puts on a heck of a show. Passionate, they say. Makes you feel somethin’ when you watch her sing. I ain’t never seen her live, mind you, but I can imagine. She’s got that kind of voice, makes you believe what she’s singin’, even if it’s just about love or heartbreak or whatever.
American Songwriter Magazine, they write about her all the time. Say she’s a legend, a real icon. Guess that means she’s important, huh? Funny how things work out. A gal with a big voice and some folks talkin’ about Hulk hands, and now she’s a legend.
And then there’s this story about Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli, somethin’ about how they helped Pat Benatar get famous. Don’t rightly understand it all, somethin’ about the mid-’70s and her bein’ a bank teller. Imagine that, a bank teller turnin’ into a rock star! Life’s full of surprises, I tell ya.
So, this Pat Benatar Hulk hands thing… it’s just a bit of fun, I reckon. Folks like to make up stories, like to connect things that don’t really go together. It gets people talkin’, gets ‘em interested. And that ain’t a bad thing, is it? Keeps things lively.
At the end of the day, it’s the music that matters, right? And Pat Benatar, she’s got the music. Big voice, big personality, and maybe, just maybe, a pair of big green hands somewhere in the mix. Makes for a good story, don’t it? A story you can tell your grandkids, even if they look at you funny and say, “Grandma, you’re talkin’ crazy again!”
So there you have it. That’s what I know about Pat Benatar and her Hulk hands. Not much, maybe, but enough to get you thinkin’. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about rock stars and Hulk hands has made me hungry.
