Okay, so, today I want to talk about something I’ve been messing with – these Pokemon cards, specifically the Mega Gardevoir EX, RC31 and RC32 from the Generations set. I’ve been trying to figure out how to use them in a deck and make them work well. It’s been a real head-scratcher, but also a ton of fun.

Getting Started with the Cards
First off, I got my hands on these Mega Gardevoir EX cards. They’re pretty cool looking, with that shiny foil and everything. The RC31 and RC32, they’re basically the same card but with slightly different artwork. I spent a good chunk of time just looking at them, admiring the details. They’ve got this “Brilliant Arrow” attack that does 30 damage, not super strong, but it’s a start.
The Big Challenge
The real challenge I found was that to really use Mega Gardevoir EX, you need a regular Gardevoir EX. So, I had to hunt that down too. Once I had them both, I started to think about how to build a deck around them. I learned that Mega Gardevoir EX is a Mega Evolution, which means it evolves from Gardevoir EX. I had to get this part right, or the whole deck idea would be a bust. There’s this thing about Pokemon EX getting Knocked Out, which I had to keep in mind too. It’s a rule or something, but it sounded important.
Building the Deck
I started putting together a deck, trying different combinations of cards. I added some basic Fairy Energy cards because Mega Gardevoir EX needs them for its attacks. I read somewhere that to use Gardevoir EX’s ability called “Psychic Embrace”, you need some Energy Cards in the discard pile. That got me thinking about how to get them there, it’s like a little puzzle within the game.
The Radiant Greninja Discovery
Then I came across this card, Radiant Greninja. It has this ability called “Concealed Cards”, that lets you draw two cards if you discard an Energy Card. This was a game-changer! I realized I could use this to get those Energy Cards into the discard pile for Gardevoir EX. I was pretty excited when I figured this out, it felt like I’d cracked a secret code or something.
Experimenting and Learning
I spent days just playing with the deck, trying different strategies. I lost a lot, but each loss taught me something new. I learned about sequencing, like when to play which card, and started to make actual game plans. It was way more involved than I first thought. I read online that someone said this deck really tests your fundamentals, and boy, were they right!
Fine-Tuning the Deck
- I added more cards that could help me search for the cards I needed.
- I tweaked the number of Energy cards to find a good balance.
- I even tried different versions of the deck, some focusing more on defense, others on speed.
Finally, Some Success!
After a lot of trial and error, I finally started winning some games. It was such a great feeling to see the deck working the way I had planned. I remember this one game where everything just clicked – I got Mega Gardevoir EX out early, used Radiant Greninja to power it up, and just swept through my opponent’s Pokemon. It was awesome!
Still Learning
I’m still messing around with this deck, trying to make it even better. There’s always something new to learn, a new strategy to try. It’s like this ongoing project that I keep coming back to. And honestly, that’s what I love about it. It’s not just about winning, but about the whole process of figuring things out, experimenting, and improving. Plus, those Mega Gardevoir EX cards just look so darn cool!
