Well, well, if ya find yourself in one of them Xerneas raids, ya best be ready for a bit of a tussle. Xerneas is a big ol’ Fairy-type Pokémon, and let me tell ya, it ain’t no pushover. But don’t you worry, I’m here to help ya get through it with some good ol’ fashioned advice!

First things first, Xerneas is weak to Steel and Poison-type attacks. So, what does that mean for ya? It means you better bring along them Steel and Poison-type Pokémon, and be sure they’ve got the right moves. If you got yourself a few strong Pokémon with Steel or Poison moves, then you’re off to a good start!
Best Pokémon to Bring:
- Metagross – This fella’s got Steel moves like Meteor Mash that’ll make Xerneas’ life real tough.
- Scizor – Another good Steel-type to use, especially if ya got some high CP ones. It hits hard!
- Gengar (Poison-type) – Now, don’t forget about this ol’ ghost! Gengar with his Poison moves will do some serious damage too.
- Roserade – A Poison-type with a little bit of flair! If you’ve got one with good moves, it’ll do the job.
Now, if you’re lookin’ for a bit more power, you can always throw in some Mega Pokémon. Mega Metagross is a fine choice, but you might also wanna think about Mega Gengar, especially if you’re lookin’ to take down Xerneas quick-like. But don’t forget, this is a tough raid, so it’s always best to go in with a few folks helpin’ ya out!
If ya try to take on Xerneas solo or with just a couple of buddies, it’s gonna be a rough road ahead. I’d say ya need at least three or four trainers to stand a real chance. If you don’t got the best counters, then ya might wanna consider gettin’ even more folks to help out. Ya don’t wanna be caught flat-footed, now do ya?
Weather and Boosts:
Weather can play a big part in these raids too, so keep an eye on what the skies look like. Steel and Poison-types get a little extra punch when it’s cloudy, so if you see that weather, that’s a good time to dive right in. If the weather ain’t favorable, don’t fret too much, but always keep an eye out for that little extra boost!
When you’re in the raid, make sure you’re usin’ the right moves too. Xerneas may be a Fairy-type, but that don’t mean you can just spam anything and hope for the best. Steel-type moves like Iron Head and Meteor Mash are some of your best bets. For Poison-types, you’ll wanna go for moves like Sludge Bomb and Sludge Wave. Just be sure to have them good attacks ready to go!
Keepin’ an Eye on Xerneas’ Weaknesses:
- Weak to Steel and Poison-types
- Resistant to Bug, Dark, and Fighting-types
- Super resistant to Dragon-type attacks
It’s also good to know what Xerneas is resistant to. This way, ya won’t waste time throwin’ in Pokémon that won’t do much good. It’s no use bringin’ in Dragon-types like Dragonite, ‘cause Xerneas is real tough against them. You’ll wanna stick to the Steel and Poison folks for sure!
When the battle’s over, ya might just get lucky and find yourself a shiny Xerneas. Shiny Pokémon are rare, but they sure are a sight for sore eyes when you catch ‘em. If you’ve got your heart set on that shiny, well, best of luck to ya, ‘cause it’s gonna take some work!
And don’t forget, while Xerneas might not be the best for raids in general, it’s still a Legendary Pokémon and can make a mighty fine addition to your collection if ya catch one. But if you’re just lookin’ for raids that’ll help ya out more in the long run, there’s other Pokémon like Yveltal that might be a better investment.
But enough of that! If ya’re in it for the raid, just make sure you’ve got a good team, the right moves, and a bit of patience. Xerneas ain’t gonna go down easy, but with the right preparation, you’ll be able to take it down and maybe even add it to your collection! Best of luck out there!
