Hello Kitty Beer Craze Hits the US: What You Need to Know

Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya’ll about this here… uh… Hello Kitty Beer. Yeah, that’s the name. Fancy, ain’t it? I ain’t never seen nothin’ like it.

Now, I ain’t much of a drinker myself. A little bit of dandelion wine now and then, that’s about it. But this here beer, it ain’t like the stuff the menfolk drink after a long day in the fields. This here’s somethin’ different, somethin’… fruity.

They say it’s got all sorts of flavors. Peach, like them fuzzy things growin’ on the trees in the summer. Lemon-lime, kinda sour like them green lemons but a little sweet too. Passion fruit? Never even heard of it. And banana! Like the ones them monkeys eat, I reckon. It’s all mixed up with beer, mind you. Not just juice, but beer and juice together. Sounds kinda strange, don’t it?

From what I hear, this beer ain’t from around here. Nope. It’s from way over yonder, in China and Taiwan. Some company, Shanghai KT, they let some Taiwanese beer maker, Long Chuan, make it. Seems like they put that little cat face, Hello Kitty, on just about everything these days. Toys, snacks, and now even beer. Can you believe it?

This Kitty ain’t comin’ to America, though. Heard some folks got all riled up over some dolls, hurtin’ themselves tryin’ to get ’em. Maybe that’s why they ain’t sendin’ this beer over here. Probably just as well. I ain’t sure what I’d do with a beer that tastes like bananas.

Folks say that cat, Hello Kitty, she’s been around a long time. Started out on little things for kids, like purses and such. Then she got real famous, puttin’ her face on everything a little girl could want. Toothbrushes, hair clips, pencils. You name it, she’s probably got it.

And now she’s got beer! I tell ya, it’s a crazy world. But some folks, they just love that cat. They grew up with her, makes ’em feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Like a good quilt on a cold night. They call her “kawaii,” which is Japanese for cute. I guess she is kinda cute, for a cat that ain’t even real.

They say this “kawaii” thing is a big deal over there in Japan. It’s like a whole style, like the way them young folks dress up in all them fancy clothes. And Hello Kitty, she’s right in the middle of it all.

So, there you have it. Hello Kitty Beer. It’s fruity, it’s foreign, and it’s got a cat on it. I reckon some folks would like it, but I’ll stick to my dandelion wine, thank you very much.
