Okay, so, I recently got into this hunting thing, and let me tell you, it’s been quite an adventure. I decided to check out Happy Hollow Hunts Inc. because I heard they had a massive area for hunting – over 200 acres, to be exact. It’s all hardwoods, which is pretty cool.

I was particularly interested in their Trophy Whitetail Hunt, and I found out they also offer Elk Hunts. I mean, who wouldn’t want to hunt an Elk, right? The Elk Hunt is a Big Game Hunt, and it’s in Pennsylvania. I’ve never been hunting in Pennsylvania before, so that was a big plus for me. The prices for the Elk Hunt range from $2,500 to $4,500, which seemed reasonable for such an experience.
I did a bit of digging and found the location of Happy Hollow Hunts Inc. – 204 Sassafras Rd, Middleburg, PA 17842. It’s always good to know where you’re headed, especially when you’re going into the woods with a weapon. I even looked up their reviews and ratings, just to be safe. You never know what you’re gonna get with these places.
The folks at Happy Hollow Hunts Inc. really try to make sure you have a good time and, you know, actually manage to hunt something. They say they only have top-quality animals, and they promise no hidden costs. That’s a big deal for me because I hate surprises when it comes to money.
Besides the deer and elk, I also heard they have Feral Hog Hunts. These hunts go on from January all the way to December. So you have a whole year to catch these hogs. It’s also on private land. I must say, hunting on private land sounds a lot better than public land.
I finally decided to give them a call to get more details. The guy on the phone, he was pretty helpful. He told me everything I needed to know about their hunts. He walked me through the costs, what to bring, and what to expect during the hunt. I appreciated that.
So, I booked my hunt. I went for the Elk Hunt because, why not? I packed my gear, drove down to Middleburg, and checked in. The staff were friendly, showed me around, and made sure I was all set. I felt pretty confident, especially after they gave me a rundown of the safety procedures. You can never be too careful when you’re out there.
The Hunt Begins
The next morning, bright and early, we headed out into the woods. The guide knew the area like the back of his hand. He pointed out tracks, droppings, and all sorts of signs that there were elk nearby. It was pretty exciting, I must say. We spent hours tracking, walking through the woods, trying to spot an elk.
And then, it happened. We saw him. A big, majestic elk. My heart was pounding, I tried to stay calm, just like the guide taught me. I raised my rifle, took aim, and fired. The elk went down. It was a clean shot. I couldn’t believe it. I actually did it.

The Aftermath
The guide helped me field dress the elk. It was a bit messy, but it’s all part of the experience. We took some pictures, and then we headed back to the lodge. They helped me process the meat, and I got to take it home with me. It’s a lot of meat, let me tell you.
Overall, it was an incredible experience. I’m definitely going back to Happy Hollow Hunts Inc. Maybe next time I’ll try the Feral Hog Hunt. Or maybe I’ll just stick to Elk. They’re pretty awesome.
Here’s a little breakdown of what I liked:
- Huge hunting area (200+ acres)
- Variety of hunts (Whitetail, Elk, Feral Hog)
- Helpful and friendly staff
- No hidden costs
- Great experience overall
If you’re into hunting, I’d definitely recommend checking out Happy Hollow Hunts Inc. Just make sure you do your research, know what you’re getting into, and be prepared. It’s a wild experience, but it’s totally worth it.
