Okay, so I just got back from Border Town Comic Con, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride. First off, I gotta say, planning is key for these things. I started by figuring out what I wanted to do there. I mean, it’s a comic con, so obviously, I wanted to see some cool costumes, maybe buy some stuff. So, I started there.

The first thing on my mind was, what am I gonna wear? It is a comic convention after all, so I thought about what to wear. I thought I should wear a costume. I mean, I see people there wear different comic characters’ clothes. I’ve seen Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and Jean Grey. But I am not sure if I should wear them. So, I decided to keep it simple and just went with some comfy clothes and my trusty old sneakers. Comfort is super important when you’re walking around all day, trust me on this.
Next, I made a list of the stuff I wanted to check out. There were a few artists I really wanted to see, and I knew there’d be tons of vendors selling all sorts of cool stuff. I even made a little budget for myself so I wouldn’t go too crazy with the spending. You know how it is, you get there, and you just wanna buy everything!
- Choose the right clothes: I can not emphasize this enough, you gotta be comfy. You are gonna be on your feet a lot, so wear shoes that won’t kill your feet.
- Make a plan: Look up the schedule beforehand. Figure out what panels you wanna see, which artists you want to meet, all that jazz.
- Stay hydrated: It is easy to forget to drink water when you are having fun, but trust me, you will thank yourself later.
- Bring some cash: Not all vendors take cards, so it is always a good idea to have some cash on hand.
When I got there, the place was packed! So many people in awesome costumes. I spent the first few hours just wandering around, taking it all in. I saw some amazing cosplay, seriously, people go all out for this thing.
I checked out the artist’s alley, met a few of my favorites, and even got a couple of sketches. That was definitely a highlight. And of course, I did a little shopping. Picked up some cool comics and a few other things I probably didn’t need but couldn’t resist.
By the end of the day, I was exhausted, but it was totally worth it. I had a blast, met some cool people, and saw some amazing stuff. If you’re thinking about going to a comic con, I’d say do it. Just remember to plan ahead, wear comfy shoes, and don’t be afraid to embrace your inner geek!
Oh, and one last thing, don’t forget your phone charger! You’re gonna be taking a lot of photos.
