Okay, let’s talk about this “G.O.D.S. #1” thing. I saw it pop up on my radar and, you know me, I had to dive in and see what all the fuss was about.

So, first, I grabbed a copy. It’s this comic book from Marvel, came out in December 2023, it seems. The cover? Pretty wild. Definitely caught my eye. It’s got this whole cosmic vibe, you know? Stars, galaxies, that kind of stuff. Makes you wonder what’s inside, right?
Then, I started reading. It’s written by this guy Jonathan Hickman. I’ve heard the name before, apparently he’s a big deal in the comic book world. And the art? That’s by Valerio Schiti. Let me tell you, this Schiti guy, he can draw. I mean, the artwork in this thing is seriously something else. Super detailed, really dynamic. It really pulls you into the story.
Now, the story itself, that’s where things get interesting. It starts in this library, and there’s this guy, Stephen Strange, you know Doctor Strange who is a Marvel hero, the sorcerer. He’s hanging out with some other wizard and a bunch of science folks. Apparently, they had some meeting last night. I guess this meeting is important.
So, I guess the main idea is that “G.O.D.S.” is like a whole new part of the Marvel universe. It’s like they’re building this huge backstory, with new characters and everything. Like, it’s always been there, but we just didn’t know about it. It’s a pretty wild concept, if you ask me. They are talking about expanding the Marvel’s cosmology, whatever that means.
There’s also this thing in the comic they call the “Trinity.” Reminds me a bit of what I learned in Sunday school, you know? God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They talk about how God came to Earth as Jesus. It’s like they’re connecting this comic book stuff to real-world religious ideas. I even read somewhere that the Bible says God is eternal, no beginning or end. They mention Psalm 90:2, “Before the mountains were brought forth… from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” Makes you think, huh?
- The comic talks about eternal life and sins. Like, how Jesus’s blood cleanses sins. It’s all very symbolic, you know? Like, good versus evil.
- There are parts where they mention how you can see, hear, and touch this eternal life and sins. It’s like they’re trying to make it all feel more real, more tangible.
Anyway, after reading it, I was like, “Wow, this is deep.” It’s not just your average superhero comic. There’s a lot going on here, a lot to think about. I can see why people are talking about it. I found some reviews online, and they’re all saying the same thing. Good main character, amazing art, and a story that really makes you think.
So, that’s my take on “G.O.D.S. #1.” It’s a trip. A wild, cosmic, philosophical trip. I definitely want to read more. I got to see where this whole thing is going. It’s like they’re building something big here, something really special.
