Okay, so I’ve been hunting for some cool art lately, and I stumbled upon the works of Frank Frazetta. This guy’s a legend in the fantasy art world. I really wanted to snag an original piece, but let me tell you, it’s a wild ride!

First, I started by browsing online auction sites. You know, the usual suspects. I typed “Frank Frazetta original art” into the search bars and… wow. A ton of stuff popped up, but mostly prints and posters. Not exactly what I was looking for.
Then, I remembered someone mentioning comic art websites. So I headed over to one of those sites. They have a pretty neat search feature where you can look for specific artists across multiple platforms. I plugged in “Frank Frazetta” and hit search.
- Boom! I found a few listings for original Frazetta pieces.
- But here’s the kicker: the prices were insane. We’re talking major bucks.
I decided to dig a little deeper. I checked out a few more specialized art auction sites and even looked into some galleries that deal with fantasy art. I found some more potential pieces, but the prices were still way out of my league.
I learned that original Frazetta art is a hot commodity. Apparently, one of his Conan paintings sold for a cool million a while back. No wonder they’re so expensive! I also read that a lot of people try to sell fake stuff. So you have to be really careful and do your homework.
I saw a lot of “Princess of Mars” posters and prints which look good, but they aren’t original. I thought about maybe settling for a high-quality print, but it’s just not the same, you know?
After a few weeks of searching, I’m still empty-handed. But I’m not giving up! I’m going to keep my eyes peeled. Maybe I’ll get lucky and find a hidden gem at a reasonable price. Or maybe I’ll just have to win the lottery first. Haha!
A man can dream, right?
Anyway, that’s my adventure so far. It’s been a real eye-opener. If you’re ever in the market for original art, be prepared to do some serious digging and have deep pockets. Wish me luck!
