Well now, I reckon you folks want to hear about this Faceless Menace thing in the game of Magic: The Gathering. Let me tell ya, it’s a bit of a tricky one, but a fun one if you know how to handle it. It’s a deck that came out in the 2019 Commander set, and it’s got itself a Morph theme. Don’t ask me what that means in fancy words, but it’s all about switching things up, making things look like something else till the right moment comes to reveal the real deal.

Now, this deck is what folks call “Sultai” colored—don’t get too tangled up in them fancy terms, it just means it’s made up of three colors: black, green, and blue. So, if you’re wanting to play, you best have yourself a good mix of them colors, or it ain’t gonna work right. The main commander of this deck is a fella named Kadena. Don’t know much about him myself, but he’s the one leading the charge. He helps you with that Morph business, which, I reckon, means you can flip cards around and surprise your opponents when they think they got you figured out.
Let me tell ya, when I first got my hands on this deck, I didn’t know what to expect. But boy, it sure can make a big mess of things on the battlefield. There’s so many creatures popping out left and right, it can be hard to keep up. But, like anything else, it’s a little tricky sometimes. Sometimes it gets stuck, doesn’t quite run like you want it to. But when it does work, watch out! You’ll have yourself a whole field full of creatures, and them creatures might just be ready to surprise your enemies when they least expect it.
One of the big things people say about this deck is that it can get real powerful if you play it right. But let me tell you, it don’t always work out that way. Sometimes, you might be sittin’ there, waiting for the right moment, and not much happens. It can stall out, like a mule that don’t want to move. But when the cards start lining up, it’s like a floodgate opening. You got a whole bunch of creatures, all of ’em ready to come out of hiding, and they can really turn the tide of the game.
And speaking of creatures, this deck’s got a whole mess of ways to bring ‘em out. It’s not just about the big creatures either. No sir, this deck’s got all sorts—some small ones, some bigger ones, and even some that can do all sorts of sneaky tricks. A lot of these creatures got abilities that’ll make your opponent think twice before they attack. You can keep ’em guessing, and that’s what makes it fun. Plus, if you like making your opponents scratch their heads, this deck’s right up your alley.
Now, like with any deck, there’s some cards you’re gonna want to keep an eye on. Folks say that Sol Ring’s a good card to have in this deck. It’s a little piece of magic that helps you get your mana all set up quicker. I ain’t much of a card expert, but I reckon it’s one of those cards that gives you a real good chance to start things off on the right foot. Other than that, the deck’s got a lot of low-cost cards, which is helpful when you need to build your board state real quick.
But like I said, the deck ain’t perfect. It’s got its ups and downs. If you’re not careful, you might end up stuck without much to do. It’s got a lot of potential, but you gotta know when to strike and when to sit back and wait. I reckon it’s one of them decks that rewards patience. Keep a cool head, and when the time’s right, you can really make something big happen.
If you’re thinking about giving Faceless Menace a go, just know it’s gonna take some practice. It’s not one of them decks you can just pick up and expect to win right off the bat. But if you put in the time, you’ll start seeing the magic happen. And when that happens, it’s a sight to see. Trust me on that.
So, in short, if you’re into them Morph decks and don’t mind a little bit of a learning curve, Faceless Menace might just be the thing you’re looking for. It’s got power, it’s got surprises, and it can really turn the tide when you need it to. Just be sure you know when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em, and you’ll be just fine.
