Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this here Fables 162 thing. Folks been jabberin’ about it, so I figured I’d poke around and see what all the fuss is.
Now, they tellin’ me it’s called “The Black Forest Chapter Twelve: Rightful Prey.” Sounds kinda spooky, don’t it? Like somethin’ you’d hear about down by the creek after dark. But from what I gather, it’s the end of a story, this “Black Forest” thing. Yep, the big finale, they say. Like when you finally get to the bottom of that there pickle jar.
So, when’s it comin’ out, you ask? Well, that’s the part that gets a little muddled. Some folks sayin’ March 12th. Others hollerin’ about May. And then there’s this fella talkin’ about March 13th. Makes a body dizzy, all this back and forth. But seems like most the chatter is about March 12th, 2024. So, I’d mark that down on your calendar, if you’re keepin’ track of such things. And it’s from them DC Comics folks, you know, the ones with all them superhero fellas.
Now, this ain’t no funny book for little kids, mind you. They got this here “Ages 17+” stamp on it. Means it’s got stuff in it that ain’t for young’uns ears. Probably got some fightin’ and maybe some kissin’, who knows? Them comic books, they always got somethin’ goin’ on.
This fella Bill Willingham, he’s the one writin’ it. And Mark Buckingham, he’s drawin’ the pictures. Heard they been workin’ on this Fables thing for a good long while now. Must be somethin’ special if it’s takin’ them that long.

- Title: Fables #162 – The Black Forest Chapter Twelve: Rightful Prey

I ain’t read it myself, mind you. Just hearin’ things from folks who like them picture books. But they say it’s the end of somethin’ big. This “Black Forest” story, it’s been goin’ on for a while, and this here Fables 162 is supposed to wrap it all up. Tie it up in a neat little bow, like my grandma used to do with them leftover scraps of fabric.
So, if you’re into them Fables stories, I guess you’ll be wantin’ to get your hands on this one. Just remember, it ain’t for the little ones, and keep an eye out for that March 12th release date. Though, like I said, some folks are sayin’ different. Guess you’ll just have to keep your ears open and see what shakes out.
And that’s about all I know about this here Fables 162. It’s comin’ out, someday, and it’s the end of somethin’ big. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I got some chores to do. Them chickens ain’t gonna feed themselves, you know.
Final thoughts on fables 162? It seems like a big deal for folks who are into these kinds of stories. I reckon it’s like the end of a good soap opera, you know, the kind that keeps you on the edge of your seat. And with that fella Mark Buckingham drawin’ the pictures, I bet it’s a real purdy sight, too. I might even have to sneak a peek at it myself, once all the fuss dies down and the price drops a bit. Us old folks, we gotta be careful with our pennies, you know.
Anyways, that’s the long and short of it. Go on now, and get yourself that comic book if you’re so inclined. Just don’t come cryin’ to me if it’s too scary or too grown-up for ya.
