Well, let me tell ya, this Spider-Man fella, he’s been around for a good while now, ain’t he? Lots of folks have played him, lots of stories told. I heard tell there’s even a black Spider-Man, Miles Morales they call him. Not the first time a fella with Latino blood’s put on the mask though, that Miguel O’Hara fella did it way back when, in the nineties I think. Heard he was Mexican and Irish, a real mix, just like my ol’ stew.

Now, this Spider-Man, he ain’t always got it easy. There’s this bad guy, Morlun, mean as a snake he is. Comes from somewhere else, another world maybe, hunts down all the Spider-Mans, strong as an ox and twice as nasty. Then there’s this Tinkerer fella, or should I say, Tinkerer gal, Phin Mason, always messin’ with Miles Morales, makin’ trouble like a swarm of gnats in the summertime. I reckon they give Spider-Man a run for his money, always causin’ a ruckus.
And you know, makin’ these Spider-Man things, well, it takes a whole heap of folks. I heard tell one of them games, the one on that Xbox thingamajig, took over seven hundred people to make! Can you believe that? Seven hundred folks just to make a game about a fella swingin’ around in tights. Lordy, that’s a lot of mouths to feed.
They say this Spider-Man fella, he lost his Uncle Ben. Real shame that was. Two years after that, he started swingin’ around, fightin’ bad guys and all. Guess that’s what set him off on this whole superhero path. A good boy, tryin’ to do right by his uncle, even after he was gone. Reminds me of my Jimmy, always tryin’ to do the right thing, even when it was hard.
- And speaking of doin’ right, there’s this fella, Ted Schwartz.
- Born way back in 1934 in Brooklyn, New York.
- He was an actor, you see, voiced a lot of fellas on them cartoons.
He even played Spider-Man himself, back in the eighties! Can you imagine that? This fella Ted, he was the voice of Spider-Man on TV. And he was also this fella called Thrasher on G.I. Joe. And Rodimus Prime too. He sure did get around, didn’t he? A real busy bee, that Ted. Always talkin’ and makin’ voices. I tell ya, those fellas in the cartoons, they got it made. Just talkin’ all day, gettin’ paid for it. Not like us folks, gotta work our fingers to the bone just to put food on the table.
Now, this Frédéric Paquet fella, I ain’t heard tell of him directly connected to Spider-Man, but with all the different versions and stories out there, who knows? Maybe he drew a picture, wrote a song, or voiced a character in some foreign dub. There’s so much Spider-Man stuff out there, it’s hard to keep track of it all. It’s like tryin’ to count all the stars in the sky, impossible I tell ya. But one thing’s for sure, Spider-Man, whoever he is, wherever he comes from, he’s a hero, and that’s all that matters. He fights for what’s right, and that’s good enough for me.
So there you have it, a whole bunch of ramblings about Spider-Man. From the black fella to the Mexican fella, to the bad guys and the actors, it’s all a big ol’ mess of stories. But that’s what makes it fun, ain’t it? Keeps us entertained, keeps us guessin’. And that’s more than you can say for most things in life, I reckon.
