DC Comics Solicitations September 2024: What to Expect and When

Alright, alright, let’s talk about them DC comic books comin’ out in September 2024, ya hear? I ain’t no fancy expert, but I can tell ya what’s what, the way I see it.

So, they callin’ it the “New Dawn of DC,” huh? Sounds mighty important. Like somethin’ big is happenin’. Well, I guess we’ll see about that. They got a whole mess of books comin’ out, over 200 covers they say. That’s a lot of pictures! I remember when comics were just a dime, now they cost a pretty penny, I tell ya.

• First off, they got this Batman fella. He’s always busy, that one. Fightin’ bad guys, broodin’ in the shadows. I ain’t sure why he’s always so glum, but folks seem to like him. He’s got a bunch of different books, I reckon. One for every day of the week, maybe. I seen him on TV once, fightin’ that Joker fella. Crazy as a loon, that Joker.
• Then there’s Superman. He’s the goody-two-shoes, always savin’ the world. Flyin’ around in his blue tights. I ain’t complainin’, mind you, it’s good to have someone lookin’ out for us. He’s got his own books too. Prob’ly fightin’ robots or aliens or somethin’. He’s strong as an ox, that Superman. Always landin’ on his feet.

And they got all these other folks too. Wonder Woman, with her lasso and bracelets. She’s tough as nails that one! She don’t take no guff from nobody. Then there’s that Flash fella, runnin’ around faster than a greased pig. I don’t know how he does it, but he gets where he needs to go. And don’t forget about Aquaman, swimmin’ with the fishes. He talks to ’em, you know. I ain’t sure what they say, but he seems to understand ’em.

They got teams too, like the Justice League. All them heroes together, fightin’ bigger bad guys. It’s like a barn raisin’, but with superpowers. They got their own book, I reckon. Prob’ly savin’ the whole universe this time. They always got big problems, them superheroes.

Now, I ain’t read all these books, mind you. I just look at the pictures sometimes. They got some real purdy colors, I gotta say. And the stories, well, they’re somethin’ else. Full of action and adventure. Good for passin’ the time, I reckon. Beats watchin’ the chickens peck all day, that’s for sure.

September 2024, huh? That’s a ways off, but time flies, you know? Before you know it, them comic books will be on the shelves, and folks will be snatchin’ ’em up. It’s a whole new dawn, they say. A new beginnin’. Well, I hope it’s a good one. We could use some good news these days.

I heard they got new stories, new villains, new everything. It’s hard to keep up, I tell ya. But that’s what they want, ain’t it? Keep us comin’ back for more. Well, it works, I guess. People love their stories. Love their heroes. Love to see good triumph over evil.

And them covers, they’re somethin’ special. Artists workin’ hard, makin’ them pictures look real nice. They got all different styles, you know? Some are bright and colorful, some are dark and gritty. But they all tell a story, even before you open the book. It’s like lookin’ at a storefront window, gotta catch your eye, or you’ll just walk on by.

So, that’s the lowdown on them DC comics comin’ out in September 2024. A whole bunch of ’em, with all your favorite heroes and villains. Go on down to the store and take a look, if you’re inclined. Maybe you’ll find somethin’ you like. And if not, well, there’s always next month. They’ll have more comics than you can shake a stick at, I betcha.
