Today, I wanna talk about something I got into recently – collecting Dragon Ball Super cards. Yeah, I know, sounds kinda childish, but hey, it’s fun! So, I started digging around for some prices, specifically for the set called “Critical Blow,” and let me tell you, it was a wild ride.
First off, I hit up some online marketplaces. I browsed through listings, sorted by price, and tried to get a feel for what’s what. There are so many cards, and the prices are all over the place! Some are pretty cheap, like a couple of bucks, but others? Man, some of these cards are crazy expensive.
- I found out that this “SS3 Goku, Universe at Stake” card is like, the holy grail. It’s super rare and everyone wants it. No wonder it’s got the biggest price tag!
- Then there’s this “Ultra Instinct Son Goku, State of the Gods” card. It’s also a “God Rare” card, which, as I learned, means it’s super hard to find when you’re opening packs. This one’s got Goku all powered up and glowing. Pretty cool.
I noticed that older cards are generally worth more, especially the ones from the early days of the Dragon Ball Z card game. And, get this, first edition cards are usually pricier than later printings. Makes sense, right? It’s like with anything collectible, the older and rarer, the more valuable it is.
So, I started making a list, writing down the names of the cards and their prices. I used different sources to compare and make sure I wasn’t getting ripped off. Ungraded, graded, it’s all a bit confusing, but I’m slowly getting the hang of it. For example, I’ve learned that there is a new product numbered BT22 in the Critical Blow series, and there are a total of 155 cards in it.
I even found out that Critical Blow has some new character versions and some old favorites like Son Goku. There’s even a card where he’s fighting some assassin. It’s all pretty exciting, diving into this world.
My goal is to build a complete price list for all the Critical Blow cards. It’s a lot of work, but I’m determined. I’m checking listings, noting down prices, and trying to figure out the average value for each card. I’m keeping track of everything in a spreadsheet.
It’s been a fun project so far. I’m learning a lot about these cards, and it’s satisfying to see my list grow. Who knew collecting cards could be so involved? Anyway, I just wanted to share my little adventure with you all. Maybe some of you are into this stuff too, or maybe you’re just curious. Either way, I hope you found it interesting!
My little tips is that first edition cards are usually more valuable than later printings. Age: Older cards, especially those from the early years of the Dragon Ball Z trading card game.
It is so fun!
