So I’ve been digging into this game called “Cloven: Bloodlines” lately, and boy, it’s been a ride. I heard about it a while back, saw some buzz about the first issue of its comic book at MCM London Comic Con. Apparently, the line for it was longer than the one for Frank Miller. That’s saying something, right?

Anyways, I finally got my hands on it, and at first, I was a bit lost, just like my buddy who started playing it with me. We were like, “Okay, what do we do now?”
First off, I started messing around with the character creation. There are so many bloodlines to choose from, and each one seems to have its own vibe. I read somewhere that there’s no single “best” clan for your first playthrough, it really comes down to how you want to play. I saw some folks recommending Brujah or Gangrel if you’re into the whole “smash everything” approach. I guess the Brujah, in particular, are known for being good at melee combat.
Then, I stumbled upon this thing about “Chakra Fragments.” Apparently, you get them by doing quests. Sounds simple enough, right? But then you get into the game, and there are so many quests, it’s easy to get sidetracked. I spent hours just running around, doing random stuff, trying to collect these fragments.
I also found out that there are tier lists for these bloodlines. I mean, who doesn’t love a good tier list? It’s like a roadmap for figuring out which bloodlines are worth investing in. Some folks were saying that certain bloodlines are better for PVE, like fighting bosses and stuff. I guess there are a lot of different bloodlines in the game, so it’s good to know which ones are gonna help you beat the big bad guys.
I even saw some guide that called it, “The Ultimate Beginners Guide to casual Players!” I mean, that’s me and my friend right there, we are total beginners when it comes to games like this.
After a few days of playing, I’m starting to get the hang of things. I’ve figured out a few good strategies for collecting Chakra Fragments, and I’m starting to understand the strengths and weaknesses of different bloodlines. It’s still a bit overwhelming, but it’s also a lot of fun. There are so many things to do in this game, so many ways to play. I guess the sequel called “Bloodlines 2” just got announced on September 2, 2023, so I have that to look forward to now. And the SDK for Xamarin is now available, it’s pretty exciting!
I’m still a long way from mastering “Cloven: Bloodlines,” but I’m definitely enjoying the journey. It’s one of those games that keeps you coming back for more, even when you’re not quite sure what you’re doing. And hey, who knows, maybe one day I’ll even be good enough to write my own guide for other newbies like me. But for now, I’m just gonna keep exploring, keep experimenting, and keep having fun.
It’s a wild world in “Cloven: Bloodlines,” and I’m just getting started.
