Well, let me tell ya, this Atari 50 thing, it’s got a whole heap of games. More’n a hundred, they say! Imagine that! Back in my day, we had, like, one game, maybe two if you was lucky. Now these young’uns, they got a hundred! It’s called the “Atari 50 Expanded Edition,” and it’s stuffed full of them old-timey video games. You know, the kind you played in them arcades, or on them boxes you hooked up to the TV.
They got all sorts in there. Atari 2600 games, Atari 5200, them 8-bit computers, Atari 7800, even that Lynx thing and the Jaguar. Never could figure out them fancy new ones myself. Too many buttons! But these young’uns, they love it. Each game, you can save it, just like you’re pausing it but for longer. Handy, I guess, if you gotta go milk the cows or somethin’.
- Atari 2600 Games: A whole mess of ’em. Like, more than you can shake a stick at. They even got some hidden ones, like “classified documents” they call ’em. You gotta do special things to unlock ’em. Stuff like “Basic Math” (who wants to play math on a game machine?), “Breakout” (now that was a fun one!), “Combat Two,” “Gravitar,” and “Race 500.” To get them, you got to do some stuff in the game, I don’t rightly know what, but the young’uns figure it out.
- Atari 5200, 8-bit, 7800, Lynx, and Jaguar Games: They got games for all them machines too. Like I said, too many buttons for me. But the kids, they like ’em. All sorts of shootin’ games and racin’ games and jumpin’ games. Makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it.
And get this, they’re addin’ even more games! They call it DLC, this “First Console War” thing. Sounds like a fight to me! It’s about Atari fightin’ with another company called Intellivision. Back in the day, them companies was always fightin’ over who had the best games. This DLC, it’s got more games for the Jaguar and the Lynx, so them kids will be happy. You can play this new stuff on your computer, your Nintendo thingy, your Xbox, and that Playstation machine. And if you got that Atari VCS, you get it for free, someday in 2025.
There’s also this “Wider World of Atari” timeline thingy. It’s got stories and games, 19 playable games, they say. And videos too, eight of ‘em. They tell you all about Atari, the company, and how it all started. It’s kinda interestin’, even for an old lady like me. Learn somethin’ new every day, I always say.
So, yeah, this Atari 50 thing, it’s got a lot of games. If you like them old-timey video games, you’ll probably like this. Just don’t ask me how to play ’em all. I’m stickin’ to my checkers, thank you very much. But them young’uns, they love it. Hours they spend starin’ at that screen, tappin’ them buttons. It’s a whole heap of Atari games, more than you can imagine. All in one place. Makes ya wonder what they’ll come up with next. Probably somethin’ with even more buttons!
Honestly, I don’t know why they need so many games. Back in my days, kids played outside. They ran around, climbed trees, played tag. Now they just sit inside staring at the screen. But I guess times change. This Atari 50, it’s got something for everyone, they say. If you like those old games, give it a try. Just don’t get lost in there. And remember to take a break every now and then. Go outside, get some fresh air. It’ll do ya good.
So there you have it. That’s the scoop on the Atari 50 Expanded Edition games list, as best as I can tell ya. It’s a lot of games, that’s for sure. More than anyone really needs, if you ask me. But hey, it keeps them young’uns busy, right? And that’s somethin’.
