Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another little project I’ve been messing around with. So, I’ve always been a huge fan of classic horror movies, and “Carrie”, the 1976 one, is right up there with my favorites. I was looking to spruce up my home office a bit and I thought, what better way than with a poster of “Carrie”?
First, I jumped online to see what I could find. I browsed through a bunch of different sites. There were a lot of options out there, like posters printed on different materials. Some were on that regular glossy paper, others on a more vintage-looking, matte paper, and some were even printed on canvas or metal. I even saw some that were like, 12×8 inches, and others that were huge, like 24×36 inches. The prices were all over the place, too – some were going for around 10 bucks, while others were closer to 20.
Then I started looking at the quality. I read that authentic posters usually have sharp, clear lettering and logos because they used some fancy printing method. I zoomed in on the pictures, trying to see if the details were blurry or sharp. There were some digital prints that were like, super high-resolution, 3000×4500 pixels. I figured those would look pretty good blown up.
After spending a good amount of time looking at all these options, I finally made my decision. I decided to go with a digital download. I liked the idea of being able to print it myself and maybe get a specific size that would fit just right in my office. Plus, it was a bit cheaper that way.
I downloaded the file and then took a look at it on my computer. The resolution was great, just like they said. Then I headed over to my local print shop. I chatted with the guy there about what kind of paper to use. We ended up going with a matte paper because I wanted that vintage look. I chose a size that wasn’t too big, wasn’t too small.
- Downloaded the high-resolution poster file.
- Visited a local print shop for printing.
- Selected matte paper for a vintage look.
- Printed the poster in a custom size.
And boom, now I have my very own “Carrie” poster hanging up in my office. It looks awesome, if I do say so myself. This little project turned out to be a lot of fun, and I’m really happy with how it all came together.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure with the “Carrie” movie poster. Hope you guys enjoyed hearing about it. Catch you in the next one!
