Okay, guys, so today I wanna talk about this movie, “Blue Beetle.” I finally got around to watching it, and, well, it was an experience. I grabbed a box of Reese’s Pieces, because why not? Gotta have some snacks for a superhero flick, right?

So, I popped the movie in, settled into my couch, and dug into my Reese’s. The movie starts, and it’s all about this family, the Reyes family. They’re pretty tight-knit, and you can feel the love. Honestly, the family dynamic was probably my favorite part of the whole thing. It felt real, you know? Like, I could see my own crazy family up on the screen.
The main guy, Jaime, he’s a good kid. He gets chosen by this alien scarab thing, and bam, he’s Blue Beetle. It’s your classic origin story, nothing too out there. He’s figuring out his powers, dealing with the bad guys, and trying to keep his family safe. The action scenes were okay, pretty standard stuff. Explosions, laser beams, you get the idea. There’s this one scene where he’s flying around, and I gotta admit, it looked pretty cool.
But here’s the thing, the movie didn’t really blow me away. It was… fine. It had its moments, for sure. I did get some feelings watching the family scenes and their interactions, and there were a couple of funny lines that made me chuckle. I even finish all of my Reese’s while watching it. But overall, it felt like I’d seen it all before. It’s like they took every superhero movie ever made, put them in a blender, and this is what came out.
What I Really Think
- Family is Everything: Seriously, the family stuff was the best part.
- Action: Eh, it was okay. Nothing I haven’t seen a million times before.
- Story: Pretty predictable. You can guess what’s gonna happen next most of the time.
- Overall: It’s a decent way to kill a couple of hours, but don’t expect to be amazed.
I think that this is the first Latino superhero movie from DC, which is pretty cool. I liked seeing that representation on screen. They try to stay away from all the complicated cinematic universe stuff. If you are a fan of DC’s comics, you can try it. It’s not the worst superhero movie I’ve ever seen, but it’s not the best either. It’s just kind of… there. And don’t forget your Reese’s. You’ll need something to munch on while you watch.
So, that’s my take on “Blue Beetle.” It was a movie. I watched it. I ate some Reese’s. The end.
