Okay, so let’s talk about animation, shall we? I’ve been diving deep into this stuff lately, and boy, it’s a wild ride. Animation has been around for ages, spicing up our TV screens with all sorts of crazy characters and stories. Not all of them hit the mark, though. Remember “Fish Police”? Yeah, let’s not go there.

But then you got those gems that just blow your mind. I’ve been on a mission to find the best of the best, the kind of shows that get people talking. So, I did what any sane person would do – I went to IMDb. I’m looking for the real deal, shows with at least 50,000 votes. And trust me, there are tons of shows that meet the condition.
Started digging through the lists, checking out ratings, you know, the whole nine yards. And what did I find? A whole bunch of awesome animated programs! We’re not just talking about kid stuff here. Animation covers all kinds of genres, from comedy to drama, action to sci-fi. It’s nuts!
You got your classics, like “Batman Beyond” which came out back in 1999. And that got me thinking about how the whole award scene works.
I stumbled upon this thing called the “Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program.” Sounds fancy, right? It’s basically a big deal award given out every year to the top animated series. They used to lump everything together, but now, they got a bunch of different categories based on time. There’s even a separate one for shows that are 15 minutes or less, called “Outstanding Short Form Animated Program.”
- Several animated programs won Outstanding Children’s Program prior to 1979
- The category was divided into programs one hour or less and more than one hour from 1989 to 2009, with episodes of running series becoming eligible.
- Programs that are 15 minutes or less were given their own category, Outstanding Short Form Animated Program, in 2008.
And get this – in 2009, “Family Guy” actually got nominated for a big one. Crazy, huh? They got winners and nominees every year. It’s a whole thing. I looked up the ones for 2021, 2022, and 2023, just to see what’s been hot lately.
Anyway, I’m still in the middle of my animation exploration. It’s a lot to take in, but I’m having a blast.
So yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to. Just wanted to share my little adventure with you all.
Maybe I will make a list or something to share with you guys next time!

Stay tuned.
