Okay, so today I wanna talk about raiding Ho-Oh. That big rainbow bird, you know? I’ve been trying to get a shiny one, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey.

First off, I started by looking up some stuff about Ho-Oh raids. Turns out, this dude is a Flying- and Fire-type, which means it’s super weak to Rock-type moves. I also found out that you can technically beat it with just two people, but that’s if you’re like, a pro with maxed-out Pokemon. I’m not quite there yet, so I figured I’d need at least three or four people to be safe.
Then, I went through my Pokemon to see who would be good in the fight. I found out that Pokemon like Rampardos, Diancie, Aerodactyl, those rock guys, are pretty strong against Ho-Oh. I have a pretty decent Rampardos, so I decided to power him up a bit more. I also started investing in a Tyranitar and a Rhyperior, just in case.
Next, I got together with some friends from my local Pokemon Go group. We all met up at a gym where a Ho-Oh raid was about to start. There were five of us in total, which I felt pretty good about. We all used our best Rock-type Pokemon, and the battle began.
It was a tough fight, not gonna lie. Ho-Oh has some pretty strong attacks, but we managed to dodge most of them. We kept hitting it with our Rock moves, and slowly but surely, its health went down. Finally, after a few minutes, we defeated it! I was so pumped.
Catching it was another story, though. Those golden razz berries didn’t seem to be doing much. I threw like ten excellent throws, and it still kept breaking out. Finally, on my last Premiere Ball, I caught it! It wasn’t a shiny, sadly, but it had pretty good stats, so I was still happy.
My Shiny Hunt Continues
- Team Up: After that, I did a bunch more Ho-Oh raids with my friends. We got the hang of it pretty quickly.
- Patience is Key: I learned that catching a shiny Ho-Oh takes a lot of patience. Some people in my group said they caught one after 30 or 40 raids! I have done around 25 raids by now.
- Keep Trying: I’m still on the hunt for that shiny, though. It’s become a bit of a mission for me. I’ll keep raiding until I get it!
So yeah, that’s my Ho-Oh raid experience so far. It’s been fun, frustrating, and rewarding all at the same time. If you’re thinking about trying to raid Ho-Oh, I say go for it! Just make sure you have some strong Rock-type Pokemon and a few friends to help you out. Good luck!
