Okay, so today I want to talk about this little project I did, coloring pictures of a soldier, a cave, and some spiders. It sounds a bit odd, but it was actually pretty fun and turned out way cooler than I expected.

Finding the Right Pictures

First, I had to find some good pictures to color. I spent a good chunk of time browsing online, looking for something that wasn’t too kiddy but also not overly complicated. I wanted something that felt like an adventure, you know? Finally, I stumbled upon these printable coloring pages that had a soldier hiding in a cave, and there were even some spiders crawling around. Perfect!

Gathering My Supplies

Once I had the pictures, I printed them out. I grabbed my coloring pencils. I used pencils this time, but markers or even crayons would work just fine.

The Coloring Process

This is where the real fun began. I started with the soldier, I think. I used some earthy tones for his uniform, trying to make it look realistic. But, in the end, I thought: “Nah, let’s do something different”. So I colored his uniform in a bright blue. It was a bit of a challenge to get the shading right, especially around the folds of the fabric, but I think I managed.

Then I moved on to the cave. This part was pretty interesting because there were so many ways to play with colors. I wanted to give it that dark, mysterious vibe, so I used a lot of dark blues, grays, and even some black. I tried to make it look like there were some light sources reflecting off the walls, which was tricky but kind of cool.

The spiders were last. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of spiders, but these ones were kind of cute in a creepy way. I colored them in black and gave them some red eyes to make them pop. And hey, since the soldier’s suit is blue, I colored the spiders in a light green.

Admiring My Work

After a few hours, I was finally done. I stepped back and looked at my work. It was pretty satisfying to see the black-and-white pictures come to life with color. It felt like I had created my own little adventure scene. I’m no artist, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out.
