Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this idea in my head for a while now, right? An AEW and WWE crossover. Sounds crazy, I know. But I started digging into it, just for fun, and it got pretty interesting.

First, I jumped on to some podcasts, like “The Maggie and Perloff Show” and “The Hall of Fame” to see what people were saying. Heard Tony Khan, the AEW boss, kinda downplaying the whole thing. Said it probably wouldn’t happen anytime soon. That got me thinking, what if he’s just throwing us off?
Then, I started looking at the actual companies. AEW’s been having a bit of a rough patch lately, you know? Lower ratings, fewer people showing up to events. They’ve been trying to change things up, adding more storylines and stuff. WWE, on the other hand, they’re all about the drama, the stories, the good versus evil.
- Started looking at the companies’ strategies.
- Compared AEW’s recent struggles with WWE’s focus on storylines.
So, I started playing around with some fantasy booking in my head. What if AEW really leaned into the storylines? What if they created some epic feuds that could lead to a crossover event? It would have to be something massive, something that would get everyone talking.
Building a Crossover Storyline
I spent hours on this, scribbling down notes, moving wrestlers around like chess pieces. I even made a whole spreadsheet, can you believe it? I was thinking, maybe start with some subtle hints, some wrestlers showing up in the crowd at each other’s shows. Then, maybe some social media back and forth, you know, stoking the flames.
- Created a fantasy booking scenario.
- Brainstormed potential storylines and interactions.
- Planned out subtle hints and social media engagement.
Then, boom! A full-blown invasion angle. An AEW wrestler could jump ship to WWE, or vice-versa. It would be insane! The internet would explode. And then, the build-up to a joint pay-per-view, a massive event where the two rosters finally collide.
I know, I know, it’s probably just a pipe dream. But hey, a guy can dream, right? I kept at it though, refining the idea, adding more details. I even thought about which matches would be the most epic. Imagine the possibilities!
- Developed an invasion storyline.
- Envisioned a joint pay-per-view event.
- Considered potential match-ups between AEW and WWE wrestlers.
After all that, I realized I had spent days on this, just for fun, of course. But it was a blast! It showed me how much potential there is in the wrestling world, even if this particular crossover might never happen. But who knows? Maybe one day… maybe one day.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the world of fantasy wrestling booking. It was a fun ride, even if it was just in my head. Just goes to show, sometimes the “what ifs” can be pretty entertaining.

And I started thinkin’ about it more and more. Now I cannot stop thinking about it. It would be so cool, right?
In the end I went and started a new save file on TEW2020 and started playing as AEW, with the goal of eventually overtaking WWE as the number one promotion in the world.
I haven’t got that far yet, but that’s the goal! And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be able to make that AEW/WWE crossover a reality… in the game at least!
Anyway, that’s enough of my rambling for now. Gotta get back to work. Peace out!
