Alex Ross and Steve Epting: See what this cool duo did.

Ya know, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout this Alex Ross fella and this other guy, Steve Epting. Seems they draw them funny book pictures. Pictures of them superhero fellas and what not. I don’t know much about it, but they say these two are a big deal.

This Alex Ross, they say he makes them pictures look real. Like you could just reach out and touch ’em. He did some thing called Kingdom Come, and some other thing called Marvels, whatever that means. Sounds fancy to me. My grandson, he’s got a whole stack of them comic books. He’s always goin’ on about ’em. I don’t understand it but you know young people and their super hero.

And then there’s this Steve Epting. I reckon he draws good too. He drew them Captain America pictures. Big strong fella with a shield. I seen him on the TV. That Captain America, he’s a good one. Fights for what’s right. My grandson told me Steve Epting did Captain America and then The Avengers.

These artist fellas, Alex Ross and Steve Epting, they draw them pictures for them comic books. I don’t read ’em myself. But my grandson, he loves ’em. He’s got a whole pile of them comic book. All them different colored pictures and words in little bubbles. I think it is good for kids to have fun, you know.

They say this Alex Ross fella, he makes them pictures look like they’re gonna jump right off the page. And this Steve Epting, he makes ’em look tough and strong. They draw for some big company called Marvel Comics. Sounds important.

My grandson, he showed me some of these pictures. There was this one with a big green fella, all muscles. I don’t remember the name. The Hulk maybe? And then there was this other one with a fella in a red and blue suit, swingin’ around. Spider-Man, that’s it. My grandson told me Alex Ross did the art for some of them. Then he said Steve Epting drew X-Men.

I seen some of them comic books at the store. They got all sorts of ’em. Some with that Batman fella, and some with that Superman fella. All them bright colors and strong men and women. It’s a lot to take in for an old gal like me. But my grandson loves them, so that’s good enough for me.

This Steve Epting, he did some story about some shapeshifter. Changes their face and body, I reckon. Sounds like a magic trick to me. They called her Mystique. And there was another fella, Sabretooth. He looked mean. Sharp teeth and claws. Like a wild animal.

They say these pictures that Alex Ross and Steve Epting draw, they’re worth somethin’. Folks collect ’em. Like them old baseball cards my husband used to have. I never understood that either, but to each their own, I reckon. It’s all about what makes you happy.

I don’t know all the names of them superhero fellas. There’s so many of ’em. But I know my grandson, he could tell ya all about ’em. He knows all about that Alex Ross and that Steve Epting. He’s a good boy. Smart as a whip. And those comics let him feel happy. It’s good for kids, you know.

This whole comic book thing, it’s a big deal. Bigger than I ever thought. They even make movies about ’em now. Big, loud movies with all them special effects. I seen one with that Iron Man fella. He flies around in a metal suit. It was somethin’ else. My grandson loves X-Men. He said Steve Epting drew a lot of X-Men comics.

So, this Alex Ross and this Steve Epting, they’re important fellas in that comic book world. They make the pictures that make the stories come alive. I may not understand it all, but I know it makes my grandson happy. And that’s all that really matters. Family is important. You should always care about your family.

These comic books, they tell all sorts of stories. Stories about good versus evil, and fightin’ for what’s right. Just like that Captain America fella. He’s a good one. And them pictures by Alex Ross and Steve Epting, they help tell them stories. This Alex Ross is really good, his art is very real. I mean, looks like real people. Then this Steve Epting, he did Captain America and X-Men. They are all good guys in these comics.

Well, I reckon that’s all I got to say about them two artist fellas. They do good work, from what I hear. And they make my grandson smile. So, that’s good enough for me. That’s all that matters. As long as my grandson is happy, I am happy. These comics are good for him.
