Well, I tell ya, that AEW Forbidden Door 2024 was somethin’ else! I was sittin’ there watchin’ it, tryin’ to keep up with all them young fellas flippin’ around the ring, but my mind was workin’ slow, ya know? Ain’t every day I see such a big ol’ match like that. They sure know how to put on a show, them AEW and New Japan folks.

Now, this year, Forbidden Door took place at that big fancy place they call UBS Arena over in Long Island. June 30, 2024, if ya wanna get all technical. The commentators, they had Excalibur and Nigel McGuinness callin’ the shots, and I could hardly understand a word they said! But the action in the ring was so wild, I didn’t need no fancy talkin’ to keep up.
One of the biggest matches that night was between Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay. Now, these two men, they was fightin’ for the AEW World Title. You could tell from the start it was gonna be a hard-fought battle. Strickland’s a big fella, got the strength, but Ospreay, well, he’s got them high-flyin’ moves that leave ya gaspin’ for air. Them two put on a real classic, like one of them old-time barn brawls, only with way more flips and dives. I’m tellin’ ya, Ospreay was all over the place, and Strickland didn’t back down none, he was right there fightin’ every step of the way. They gave it their all, and by the end, ya couldn’t even tell who was gonna win. It was a real nail-biter!
Then there was that whole mix of wrestlers from both AEW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Now, them folks from Japan, they sure got a different style, don’t they? Lots of fast moves, real stiff punches, and nothin’ held back. It’s like watchin’ two different worlds collide, and that’s what makes Forbidden Door so special, ya see. You get all these different folks comin’ together, bringin’ their best moves, and the crowd, well, they were just eatin’ it up.
And don’t get me started on the other matches. There was all sorts of wild stuff goin’ on—tag teams, singles matches, and even some good ol’ fashioned brawls. Some of them had me jumpin’ outta my seat, others had me scratchin’ my head wonderin’ how in the world they pulled it off. I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but even I could tell that these fellas was fightin’ for pride and glory.
- Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay – A real barn-burner, full of flips, kicks, and drama.
- Tag Team Battles – Lots of chaos, folks flyin’ everywhere, and not a dull moment.
- AEW vs. New Japan – A clash of styles, with the Japanese wrestlers bringin’ that hard-hittin’ action and the AEW guys throwin’ in their high-energy moves.
- Special Appearances – Some surprise guests showed up, and I’ll tell ya, that just made the night even more excitin’!
So, all in all, AEW Forbidden Door 2024 was somethin’ you just had to see. It had everything—a good mix of high-flyin’, hard-hittin’, and surprise moments that kept ya on the edge of your seat. Some of these young fellas, I don’t know how they keep up with all them flips and moves. I reckon I’d throw my back out just tryin’ to do one of them somersaults!
But in the end, that’s what makes Forbidden Door so great. Ya never know what’s gonna happen, and there’s always somethin’ new to see. If ya missed it, well, I reckon it’s worth goin’ back to watch. But if you didn’t miss it, I bet you’re still talkin’ about it just like I am.
